摘要: A high yield method for fermenting carbohydrate to ethanol, comprising a) treating carbohydrate with a composition containing 10-90 wt. % of an aldehyde selected from the group consisting of an formaldehyde, para-formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde and mixtures thereof, 1-50 wt. % of a surfactant having an I JLB from 4 to 18, 0-20 wt. % of an antimicrobial terpene, or essential oils, 1-50 wt. % of organic acids selected from C1-24 fatty acids, their salts, and glyceride esters thereof, and 1-50 wt. % water, b) fermenting said carbohydrate in the presence of yeast in a fermentation broth, and c) isolating ethanol in a higher yield than would be obtained without step a).

摘要: Systems and methods consistent with the present invention encode a list so users of the list may make inquiries to the coded list without the entire content of the list being revealed to the users. Once each item in the list has been encoded by an encoder, a bit array with high and low values may be used to represent the items in the list. The bit array may be embodied in a validation system for allowing users to query the list to determine whether an inquiry item is on the list. The validation system determines which bits to check by executing the same coding process executed by the encoder. If all the bits are high, then the inquiry item is determined to be part of the list, if at least one of the bits is low, then the inquiry item is determined not to be part of the original list.

摘要: A survey is placed into an envelope containing an address label and a tracking indicia. The address label indicates an old address of a recipient. The envelope containing the survey is routed through a delivery system. The delivery system is configured to sense the tracking indicia as it passes through the elements of the delivery system thus tracking the movement of the envelope through the delivery system. The envelope containing the survey is sent through the delivery system to the plant supporting the old address. The recipient, however, no longer resides at the old address and now resides at a new address. The envelope containing the survey is forwarded through the delivery system to the plant supporting the new address. Once the recipient receives and completes the survey, survey is sent to the system operator for analysis.

摘要: A plastic receptacle or basket is provided for transporting, storing and displaying bakery, and other products, and which may be stacked on top of other like receptacles at three different levels. The receptacle of the invention is constructed so that it may be stacked on another like receptacle at a first and a second stacking level without any need to slide or rotate the receptacles with respect to one another so that the receptacles may be conveniently stacked at the bakery manually or by simple mechanical means, or in the route trucks where space is at a premium. In addition, the receptacles may be stacked at a third stacking level, if so desired, by rotating the receptacles 180.degree. with respect to one another from position of first and second stacking levels.

摘要: A cooking pan assembly is provided which has particular utility in the industrial cooking of food, such as tuna fish. The cooking pan is particularly constructed so that it may conveniently be transported on usual conveyors within the cooking facility. Crimped wire-formed ends are provided for the pan which serve as handles and which prevent the contents of the pan from sliding through the front or rear ends thereof. The wire-formed ends are crimped loosely to the side walls and bottom of the pan for sanitary reasons so that there is only a point contact between the wire-formed ends and the sides and bottoms, and no areas are formed which would be conducive to build up of bacteria. There are no welds between the end members and the bottom or side walls of the pan, since such welds would produce two separate surfaces in intimate contact with one another which could harbor bacteria. The pan assembly is easy to clean thoroughly by a simple spray wash since there are no nooks or crannies in the assembly.
