    摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus of amplifying the signal of at least one NMR spectrum and of at least one MRI of hyperpolarized xenon. In an embodiment, the invention includes dissolving the hyperpolarized xenon in a liquid via an input membrane, thereby resulting in xenon in liquid phase, encoding information in the longitudinal magnetization of the nuclear spins of the xenon in liquid phase via an encoding coil surrounding an encoding phantom coupled to an output of the input membrane and via an encoding magnet, thereby resulting in encoded xenon, extracting the encoded xenon into the gas phase from the liquid phase via an extraction membrane coupled to an output of the encoding phantom, thereby resulting in encoded xenon in the gas phase, and decoding the encoded information from the encoded xenon in gas phase via a detection coil coupled to an output of the extraction membrane.

    摘要: A system and method for monitoring the remaining useable life, or “wellness,” of a contactor or motor starter, and for predicting impending faults of such a device, is disclosed. By monitoring actuating coil current, actuating coil voltage, line current, and/or line voltage, the present invention can calculate wellness metrics which, when compared to threshold values, may be used as indicators of remaining life and/or imminent failures. The invention also provides non-mechanical positive indications of proper closures and openings of contacts for safety interlocking.

    摘要: Low concentrations of water vapor within a background of one or more olefin gases may be detected and quantified using a differential absorption spectrometer. A dehydrated sample of the gas is used as a background sample whose absorption spectrum allows elimination of absorption features not due to water vapor in the gas. Absorption spectra may recorded using tunable diode lasers as the light source. These lasers may have a wavelength bandwidth that is narrower than the water vapor absorption feature used for the differential absorption spectral analysis.

    摘要: A differential absorption spectrum for a reactive gas in a gas mixture can be generated for sample absorption data by subtracting background absorption data set from the sample absorption data. The background absorption data can be characteristic of absorption characteristics of the background composition in a laser light scan range that includes a target wavelength. The differential absorption spectrum can be converted to a measured concentration of the reactive gas using calibration data. A determination can be made whether the background composition has substantially changed relative to the background absorption data, and new background absorption data can be used if the background composition has substantially changed.
