摘要: An arc detection system includes an obtainer and a determiner. The obtainer obtains a measurement result for current flowing in a power supply line to which power is supplied from a DC power source. The determiner determines, based on a component of a specific frequency band in the measurement result for the current obtained by the obtainer, whether an arc fault has occurred. The determiner determines that the arc fault has occurred when a specific time for which the component of the specific frequency band is at least a threshold is longer than an occurrence time in which an arc can occur when a device is attached to or detached from the power supply line.

摘要: A contactor includes: at least one moveable contact mounted on a contact carrier; at least one stationary contact mounted on a housing; an electromagnet arranged to cause the contact carrier to move relative to the housing between a first position and a second position, and thus to cause the at least one moveable contact to travel from a contacts open position to a contacts closed position with respect to the at least one stationary contact; a sensor coupled to one of the contact carrier and the housing and arranged to detect an intermediate position, in between the first position and the second position, at which the housing and the contact carrier are located at a given moment in time as the contact carrier moves relative to the housing between the first position and the second position; and a controller connected to receive the signals from the sensor.

摘要: A system (100) and method is provided that facilitates functional safety monitoring of relay contacts. The system may include a contactless sensor circuit (108) that includes: an output signal antenna (110) positioned in the contactless sensor circuit to extend between at least two contacts (116, 118) of a relay (120); and first and second input signal antennas (112, 114) positioned in the contactless sensor circuit respectively adjacent the at least two contacts of the relay, such that the output signal antenna and the at least two contacts of the relay are positioned between the first and second input signal antennas. The system may also include a processor (102) configured to cause the output signal antenna to output a wireless signal (122) capable of being received by the first and second input signal antennas while the processor monitors wireless signals received by the first and second input signals antennas. The processor may be configured to determine that the relay has a fault based on the wireless signals received by the first and second input signal antennas, and responsive thereto output at least one communication (126) indicative of a fault with the relay being detected.

摘要: A system for determining when an electrical contact or other component reaches a predetermined temperature. In operation, a trace material is dispersed into a surrounding environment (e.g., head space within a compartment above insulating oil), where the trace material is detected. A barrier may be ruptured or broken by temperature-induced gas pressure, or pierced by a spring-loaded member that is located within the same section that contains the trace material, and devices may be provided for moving the trace material through the foil barrier as the barrier is ruptured. The barrier may be opened solely by internal gas pressure. According to another embodiment, improved fail-safe operation may be achieved by providing a spring-loaded member and configuring the barrier to be ruptured by the pressure of the detectable gas material before the barrier is ruptured by the spring-loaded member.

摘要: An example apparatus includes a terminal block couplable to an electronics cabinet or mounting rail. The terminal block defines a first receptacle to receive a first circuit and a second receptacle to receive a second circuit. The terminal block includes an integral relay. The integral relay includes a first contact and a second contact. The first and second contacts are externally accessible relative to the terminal block. The integral relay further includes a first switch and a second switch. The first and second switches are electrically coupled between the first and second contacts. The first and second switches are respectively movable between corresponding open and closed positions. The first and second switches are independently testable to verify the respective operability of the first switch and the second switch.
