    摘要: A focusing and tracking method and system for use on the read/write head of an optical drive is provided. The focusing and tracking method and system is capable of detecting both the focusing error and the tracking error of the read/write head to thereby control the focusing and tracking of the same during read operation. In particular, this focusing and tracking method and system combines the use of a knife-edge focusing method and a push-pull tracking method respectively for focusing and tracking of the read/write head. A specially designed photo detector is used to obtain both the focusing error signal and the tracking error signal. This allows the focusing and tracking system to be simplified in structural complexity, thereby saving manufacturing cost. Moreover, since the focusing error signal and the tracking error signal are obtained respectively in perpendicular directions, the undesired effect of cross-talk between the two error signals can be avoided.

The measurement feedback assembly is securely mounted on the platform assembly and has a laser interferometer, a reflecting device and a signal-receiving device. The laser-working assembly is mounted on the platform assembly, is electrically connected to the measurement feedback assembly and has a laser direct-writing head, a controlling interface device and a positioning interface device.

    摘要: An optical pickup head and an electromagnetic actuating device thereof are provided. The electromagnetic actuating device is used to move an objective lens carrier having an objective lens assembly to form an optical pickup head. The electromagnetic actuating device includes at least a magnet, at least a coil, and at least a yoke. The magnet is spaced apart from the objective lens carrier by a distance, and the coil is disposed at the objective lens carrier, for generating an electromagnetic force to interact with the magnet. The yoke is spaced apart from the objective lens carrier by a distance, in which the yoke has a protruding part that extends towards the objective lens carrier and is used to attract magnetic flux lines produced by the magnet, and thus making the magnetic flux that passes through the coil be distributed evenly.

    摘要: A method for measuring a surface structure of a near-field object is provided. A light source produces at least a first light beam and a second light beam; guiding the first light beam and the second light beam to enter the SIL for interacting with the object surface. This method can be used in, for example, a near-field optical disc storage system, wherein reflection intensities of the first and second light beams are used to measure two distances between the SIL and the optical disc at two positions corresponding to the first and second light beams. A surface structure, such as a tilt angle or an average distance between the disc and the SIL or disc roughness, is obtained by analyzing the above-mentioned positions and distances. The first and second light beams are produced, for example, by a diffraction technology or by a single laser diode with multiple beams.

Each optical path system includes a laser light generation unit, a light guiding unit, a converging objective lens and a photo detector. The light guiding unit is located on the optical path of the laser light generation unit, to direct the laser light to pass through the converging objective lens and focus on the data side of the optical recording medium to carry optical data signals from the data side. The laser light returns to the light guiding unit and travels along the optical path and is received by the photo detector.

    摘要: A planar integrated micro-optical pickup head is used to perform reading and writing operations on a high-density disk. The planar integrated micro-optical pickup head includes a set of optical elements that is comprised of a beam splitter, a plurality of 45-degrees-oriented folding mirrors, and two planar collimators. The pickup head further comprises a photo-detector, a laser source for emitting a laser beam of short wavelength, and an objective lens of high value of numerical aperture. The set of optical elements is formed on lower and upper substrates via semiconductor planar fabrication processes, the laser source and the objective lens then are mechanically attached on the lower substrate. The lower and upper substrates are ultimately aligned and attached with each other to achieve the pickup head hence having a reduced size and simply fabricated.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a two-color filter. The method includes forming a first metallic layer over a substrate and then forming a second metallic layer over the first metallic layer. A patterned photoresist layer is formed over the second metallic layer. A portion of the first metallic layer and the second metallic layer in region not covered by the photoresist layer are removed by etching to form a third metallic layer and a fourth metallic layer over the substrate respectively. An optical film is formed over the photoresist layer and the substrate such that the optical film is able to cover only a portion of the sidewalls of the fourth metallic layer or a portion of the third metallic layer. The extent of coverage by the optical film on the sidewalls can be controlled through careful adjustment of the thickness of the first and the second metallic layer. Finally, the third metallic layer, the fourth metallic layer and the photoresist layer are removed so that an optical film previously attached to the sidewalls of the third and fourth metallic layer remains over the substrate.
