摘要： In a steering device for an outboard engine, a drive shaft of a helm mechanism and an output shaft of an electric assist mechanism are disposed orthogonally to a steering output shaft of a steering operation member. Where the steering operation member is a tiller handle, a torque sensor, provided between an outboard engine body and the tiller handle, detects, as steering torque, a difference between steering angles of the engine body and the tiller handle, and the helm mechanism, drivable by the assist mechanism, operates to compensate for the difference between the steering angles. The assist mechanism and the helm mechanism are provided on the body of the boat.

摘要： An information processing apparatus, including a user-information analyzing unit which analyzes user information and calculates a variation in parameter. A procedure selecting unit classifies, based on the calculated amount, the user into a predetermined group, and acquires, from a procedure database, a procedure corresponding to the group of the user. A basic part producing unit records, in a product's ROM, various set values. Based on the result of analysis by the user-information analyzing unit, a unique part producing unit records an initial parameter value in the product's ROM. A system controller controls a storage unit to store a characteristic amount extracted by an image-characteristic-amount extracting unit and setting conditions on the image processing which are supplied from a remote control signal receiving circuit so that both are associated to each other. The present invention may apply to television receivers.

The remote control device 200 further includes an association degree calculating unit which calculates association degrees of first commands which have been selected the last times and second commands which have selected by operation inputs performed using an operation unit and which assigns ranks in order of association degree. Then, the commands are displayed in the command display/input unit 17 in order of the assigned ranks.

摘要： An optical deflector, a method of producing the optical deflector, an optical scanning device, and an image forming apparatus are disclosed that are able to save resources, provide high reliability at low cost, and enable stacked and relatively-offset polygon mirrors to be arranged precisely. The optical deflector includes a rotary member supported by a bearing with plural polygon mirrors fixed thereon. The polygon mirrors are stacked along a rotation axis of the rotary member, the polygon mirrors are relatively offset by a predetermined angle in a rotation plane of the rotary member, and an effective deflection area of each of the reflection surfaces of any one of the polygon mirrors is positioned away from a center of the corresponding reflection surfaces of the other one of the polygon mirrors in the direction of the rotation axis.

摘要： An optical device guides propagating light to exit from a desired side surface of a substrate while maintaining sufficient power within a limited size of the substrate and which facilitates adjustment of a mount position of a light-receiving element by increasing allowable tolerance of the mount position of the light-receiving element. The optical device has a substrate, a light propagating direction path formed in the substrate, and a reflection groove formed in an output-side of said light propagating direction path in the substrate. A side wall of the reflection groove is formed to become a convex reflection surface in relation to light which enters from the light propagating direction path, and the light output from the light propagating direction path undergoes total reflection on a side wall forming the reflection surface and lets the reflected light exit from a predetermined side surface of the substrate while enlarging an image.

摘要： An end of a conductor having a stranded conductor layer wound around a tension member made of resin-reinforced carbon fiber is cut back to expose the end of the tension member. The exposed end of the tension member is inserted into a metal fitting having multiple longitudinal slits. A metal sleeve is then fit over the metal fitting and also partially over the stranded conductor layer before compress-fitted into place. Accordingly, it is possible to attach, with good workability and sufficient tensile strength, a conductor that has a tension member made of resin-reinforced carbon fiber.

摘要： A dynamic pressure pneumatic bearing device has a groove for generating a dynamic pressure and formed on an inner circumferential face of a rotating shaft or an outer circumferential face of a fixed shaft; each of these shafts being formed by an aluminum alloy; and a wear resisting film formed on each of the inner circumferential face and the outer circumferential face. Another dynamic pressure pneumatic bearing device is constructed by a rotating shaft having a cylindrical hollow and a fixed shaft inserted into this hollow. The fixed shaft has a bearing face opposed to an inner circumferential face of the rotating shaft and separated from this inner circumferential face with a predetermined clearance. Herringbone grooves for generating a dynamic pressure and recessed portions having the same depth as the herringbone grooves are formed on the bearing face.
