摘要: In a system having an interface that utilizes an electroencephalogram, there is realized a calibration which prevents overlooking of calibrational stimulations concerning the electroencephalogram and which is highly accurate. An electroencephalogram interface system (1) includes an interface section (100) which acquires an electroencephalogram signal from a user, distinguishes a P3 component of a visual event-related potential contained in the electroencephalogram signal after a manipulation menu is presented, and operates a device based on the distinguished P3 component. An electroencephalogram distinction method adjustment apparatus (10) is used for adjusting a distinction method in the interface section (100). Based on a database (13) defining a correlation between a P3 component of an event-related potential obtained from a stimulation to a modality other than the visual sense and a P3 component of a visual event-related potential and on a P3 component of an event-related potential after a stimulation is presented, the apparatus (10) derives a characteristic quantity of the user concerning the P3 component of the visual event-related potential, and adjusts the electroencephalogram distinction method in the interface section (100) based on the characteristic quantity.

摘要: There is provided a system which is able to realize study assistance or a desired appliance operation for a user, even in the absence of an answer input from the user.A service providing system includes an output section for presenting a question to a user, and further presenting sequentially a plurality of options as candidate answers to the question; a signal detection section for measuring an event-related potential of electroencephalograms of the user; and a determination section for determining whether the user has thought each option to be the correct answer or not, based on the event-related potential in a predetermined period after each option is presented, e.g., in a period from about 350 milliseconds to about 450 milliseconds.

摘要: In a system having an interface which utilizes an electroencephalogram, device operations which are not intended by the user are reduced. An adjustment apparatus for an electroencephalogram distinction method is used for an electroencephalogram interface system. The system has a biological signal measurement section for acquiring an electroencephalogram signal from a user, and an electroencephalogram interface section for presenting via an output section a plurality of menu items of the manipulation menu in a regular order, distinguishing by a previously determined distinction method a component of an event-related potential which is contained in the electroencephalogram signal after each menu item is highlighted, and operating a device based on the distinguished event-related potential. The adjustment apparatus includes: an analysis section for determining a gradient of a waveform of the event-related potential before the menu item is highlighted; and a determination section for comparing the gradient of the waveform as determined by the analysis section against a threshold value, and determining that the menu item corresponding to the gradient is a menu item which the user wishes to select based on a result of comparison.

摘要: The interface system includes: an output section for visually presenting a manipulation menu for a device; a measurement section for measuring a masticatory electromyogram of a user; a menu presentation section for causing menu items of the manipulation menu to be presented in order via the output section; an amplitude calculation section for determining a maximum amplitude of a potential waveform of the masticatory electromyogram; a latency calculation section for determining a latency based on a point of highlighting each menu item as a starting point, the latency being an amount of time in which the potential waveform arrives at the maximum amplitude; and a determination section for determining whether the maximum amplitude is greater than a previously determined threshold value and the latency is approximately 200 ms or not. In accordance with the determination result of the determination section, the menu presentation section executes a process corresponding to the highlighted menu item.

摘要: A judgment section (200) judges the presence or absence of a specific event-related potential in an event-related potential of user's (50) electroencephalogram measured by a biological signal detection section (101). A judgment standard storage section (203) stores a plurality of judgment standards according to the number of occurrences of the specific event-related potential. A user's state judging section (201) obtains the number of occurrences of the specific event-related potential by referring to a judgment result storage section (20) and selects any of the judgment standards in the judgment standard storage section (203) according to the obtained number of occurrences thereof for judgment.
