摘要: An optical connector has a front end and a rear end in a first direction. The optical connector includes a ferrule that holds an optical fiber at the front end, and a front housing that accommodates the ferrule. The ferrule includes a flange portion having a regular hexagonal prism shape. The front housing has a through-hole into which the flange portion is inserted. The through-hole includes a first hole portion in which a cross section perpendicular to the first direction is a regular hexagonal shape, and a second hole portion that is continuous from the first hole portion. The second hole portion has a third end close to the front end, and a fourth end close to the rear end. In a cross section of the fourth end perpendicular to the first direction, six contours corresponding respectively to six sides of the third end bulge outward or inward.

摘要: A fusion splicer management system for managing progress of a fusion splicing work performed by each splicing technician by using a fusion splicer. This management system includes an acquisition unit, a determination unit, and a notification unit. The acquisition unit acquires fusion splicing data regarding the fusion splicing work performed by each splicing technician who uses each fusion splicer whenever each fusion splicing work is performed. The determination unit determines a progress status of each fusion splicing work by comparing the fusion splicing data with work plan data indicating a work plan. The notification unit notifies of the progress status of each fusion splicing work determined by the determination unit.

摘要: An optical connection structure including first optical fibers, second optical fibers, a first optical connector, and a second optical connector is disclosed. The first optical connector is configured such that each of first distal end portions of the first optical fibers protrudes from a first front end surface to the outside when the first optical connector and the second optical connector are connected to each other. Each of the first distal end portions is inserted into a corresponding second fiber hole of the second optical connector. The second optical connector is configured such that each of second distal end portions of the second optical fibers is moved rearward inside second fiber holes due to each of the first distal end portions respectively inserted into the second fiber holes. The first optical fibers and the second optical fibers are optically coupled to each other inside the second fiber holes.

摘要: A fusion splicing device includes a fusion splicing unit, a fusion splicing control unit, an imaging unit, and a notification unit. The fusion splicing unit fusion-splices optical fibers by discharge between a pair of electrode rods. The fusion splicing control unit controls an operation of the fusion splicing unit and has an operation mode for performing a discharge test. The imaging unit generates image data of a fusion spliced portion of the optical fibers. The notification unit notifies various kinds of information. The discharge test is to fusion-splice the optical fibers, to check a fusion-spliced state of the optical fibers on the basis of the image data, and to adjust a fusion splicing condition to be close to an optimum condition. When a predetermined start condition is satisfied, the fusion splicing control unit causes the notification unit to notify information for requesting execution of the discharge test.
