    摘要: A method for trimming flat printed products along a predetermined cutting line includes the steps of continuously feeding the printed products in succession in a feed direction parallel to a plane defined by the printed products. The printed products are passed between two superposed knives, each knife having a cutting edge facing the other cutting edge. The two knives are moved in cutting engagement with one another in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the plane of the printed products. The apparatus according to the invention includes a conveyor for continuously feeding the printed products in succession in a feed direction parallel to a plane defined by the printed products. At least one cutting device having two superposed knives is provided. Each knife has a cutting edge facing the other cutting edge. The printed products are passed by the conveyor between the two knives. A drive device moves at least one of the knives in cutting engagement with the other knife in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the plane of the printed products.

    摘要: The invention relates to a microtome having a blade oscillating transverse to the direction of advancing the cut, for sections on soft tissue samples. The oscillation frequency of the blade is controlled variably by the rotational speed of an electric motor. At the same time, the oscillation amplitude of the blade is also adjustable variably with the aid of an adjustable eccentric or a displacement device. This makes individual adjustment to the consistency of the tissue sample possible, which leads to improved quality of the microtome sections, in particular to a reduction in the waviness of the sections. This makes significantly thinner microtome sections possible, with corresponding advantages during microscopy.

Preferably, the machine (12) is also slidable to an upstream position whereat its upstream portion projects outwardly from the table (10) and loading and threading procedures can be easily performed. Additionally or alternatively, the machine (12) is preferably slidable to a downstream position whereat its downstream portion projects outwardly from the table (10) and inspection and maintenance may be conveniently conducted on certain components of the machine (12).

A cutter blade is provided to have a forward edge portion extending along the central longitudinal axis of the shaft, which edge portion is normally spaced from the shaft to define a non-cutting position. The edge portion of the cutter blade is moved about a reciprocating locus defined by a forward movement from the non-cutting position to a predetermined distance from the shaft effective to define a cutting position contacting the fibrous material, a lateral movement in the cutting position along the central longitudinal axis of the shaft to cut the fibrous material for its removal from the shaft, and a rearward movement from the shaft to return the edge portion to the non-cutting position.

The movable blade is driven with the aid of the connecting lever and the drive arm of the drive device. The drive of the movable blade is controlled by elasticity of the split groove in the connecting lever. When load exceeding a predetermined amount occurs at the movable blade, the split groove in the connecting lever permits the drive arm to come off.

    摘要: A chopper for collated sheets of paper having a fixed blade and a pivotally movable blade for effecting scissors like chopping action. An electric motor drives a flywheel which is connected through a clutch mechanism to a crank arm which is in turn connected to the chopping blade. The clutch mechanism normally holds the chopping blade stationary until an electrical signal is sent to actuate the clutch permitting a single reciprocating movement of the chopping blade. A magnetic switch and time delay mechanism are provided to detect jamming of the chopping blade, and if jamming is detected, the motor is deactivated.
