The apparatus includes a frame, at least first and second cutting stations, at least one receptacle in which the fruit is received that includes a plurality of extensions protruding outwardly from an outer circumference thereof, and a conveyor that conveys the receptacle from the first cutting station to the second cutting station. The frame includes a kicker. In use, the object is cut along its vertical axis at the first station, the receptacle is then rotated about its vertical axis as a result of one of the extensions contacting the kicker, and the object is cut at the second station.

摘要： A roller knife cutter includes a first knife shaft pair for severing a ferromagnetic metal sheet into sheet metal strips forwarded in a first direction of advance; and a plurality of substantially coplanar plates arranged downstream of the first knife shaft pair in a series in the first direction of advance. The plates are separated from one another by a clearance. The cutter further has an endless belt having an upper run moving in a second direction of advance and positioned in the clearance and extending parallel therewith. The upper run has a lowered position in which a top surface of the upper run is at a level below the top surfaces of the plates and a lifted position in which the top surface of the upper run is substantially coplanar with the top surfaces of the plates; and a plurality of individually height-adjustable magnet units arranged in a series underneath the upper run parallel to the second direction of advance. Each magnet unit has a low position allowing the upper run of the endless belt to be situated in the lowered position and a high position raising the upper run into the lifted position.

A corresponding apparatus has a plurality of conveying units for the printed products moving along a circular path. The conveying units are preferably constructed as counterknives while the associated cutting knives are fixed. Thus, even when large quantities are conveyed and the printed products are thick, a top-quality three-sided cut is obtained.

摘要： An apparatus for segmenting scrap tires having a compression conveyor and three rotary shears that make perpendicular cuts into the tire. The compression conveyor centers the tire and provides forces onto the treaded periphery to buckle the tire. The compression feeds the tire to a first rotary shear having overlapping counterrotating circular shears that make at least one cut about the circumferential periphery of the tire to produce annular tire segments. The annular tire segments fall by gravity into a conveyor having a pair of auger flights which position the segments for pickup by a conveyor chain. The conveyor chain includes a number of hooks which grasp the inner circumference of the annular tire segments, whereupon they are centered for entry into a second and third rotary shear. The second and third rotary shears are parallel to each other and are disposed to shear the tire segments perpendicularly to an axis extending through the center of the segment, reducing the tire segment to four arcuate segments. Preferably the first rotary shear includes a pair of coaxial circular shears that are spaced apart by a third shear supported on a shaft parallel a shaft supporting the outer shears. The second and third rotary shears each have a pair of shears supported on parallel shafts. In this manner a scrap tire will be reduced to twelve arcuate segments. Adjacent shears are spaced apart from each other by a distance not exceeding 0.003 inches.

摘要： A system for cutting generally planar quadrilateral workpieces into a plurality of quadrilateral elements, at least a portion of which have both their length and width dimensions smaller than the overall length and width dimensions of the original workpiece wherein cuts extending completely across the workpiece parallel to one of the length and the width dimensions thereof are first effected by a first saw with the cut pieces being then conveyed to a third saw where cuts completely thereacross may be made in directions perpendicular to the one dimension. The remainder of the workpiece is conveyed to a second saw where cuts are made in directions parallel to the other of the length and width dimensions with the cut portions of the workpiece remainder being subsequently conveyed to the third saw for effecting cuts in the cut portions in directions parallel to the one dimension. The pieces initially cut from the workpiece by the first saw bypass the second saw and instead of being conveyed directly to the third saw they may be conveyed to a storage table for temporary storage after which they may be conveyed to the third saw. The system includes a transfer table which may operate to rotate the bypassed pieces through 90.degree. and to feed the bypassed pieces either directly to the third saw or to the storage table for subsequent feeding from the storage table to the third saw.

摘要： A system for skin packaging articles including a loading zone for positioning articles to be packaged upon a substrate, a thermoplastic film heating and vacuum operated skin packaging zone for covering the articles with film laminated to the substrate and slitting zone for separating and trimming the individual skin packaged articles. The articles are passed to the successive zones. The loading zone may be adapted for conveyorized instead of hand loading. In some cases, where only transverse cutting of the film web is necessary, it may be desirable to eliminate the slitting zone and remove the skin packaged article or articles directly from the packaging zone. A conveniently located operating panel contains controls for effecting automatic, semi-automatic or manual operation of the entire system or any portions thereof in any manner desired. More specific novel features of the invention comprise the provision of heat shield plates pivotally mounted for positioning above the heating elements to serve as reflectors to direct heat uniformly downwardly upon the film to be softened and deformed in the skin packaging zone and, alternatively, for positioning beneath the heating elements to shield the deformed film from further heating as desired during the vacuum skin packaging operation. Another specific feature comprises the novel arrangement of discs or other cutting means in the slitting zone to maintain an uncut border at opposed ends of the substrate board and laminated film so that the longitudinally slit strips of skin packaged articles within the border may be handled as a unit for separating into individual packages by a terminal transverse slitting operation. The invention visualizes the heating and packaging zone as a nucleus of the system around which selected article loading, removal and other devices may be associated to suit the requirements of specific article skin packaging operations.
