    摘要: Multiple nozzle injection molding apparatus wherein each heated nozzle is screwed into a socket in a mounting base secured in place adjacent a melt distribution manifold. Each heated nozzle extends through an opening in the manifold plate and has a nut-like engageable portion extending forwardly of the cavity plate. This allows each of the heated nozzles to be easily removed for cleaning or replacement without removing the cavity plate.

    摘要: Multi-cavity injection molding apparatus having a number of heated nozzles extending from a melt distribution manifold. Each nozzle is aligned with a tapered insert seated in an opening extending through the manifold. Each insert has a melt duct with a smoothly curved bend to connect the melt passage in the melt distribution manifold with the melt bore through the nozzle. Each insert has a flat disc portion abutting against the rear surface of the manifold. Screws extend through this disc portion and the manifold into an outer collar portion of the nozzle to secure the insert and the aligned nozzle directly to the manifold, while allowing the nozzle to be mounted with its electrical terminal having a selected orientation.

    摘要: A nozzle to be connected between a conventional molding machine and a mold cavity for injecting molten resin of thermoplastics into a mold cavity where a gate at the front end of a cylinder of the nozzle opens and closes automatically according to the pressure of molten resin. A differential moving piston slidably disposed in the cylinder includes a front piston and a rear piston mounted on the front end and the rear end thereof respectively, a passage for molten resin axially drilled therethrough and a needle protruding forward from the front end of the front piston for mating with the gate according to the sliding movement thereof. A spring disposed in the cylinder pushes the differential moving piston forward to close the gate. Herein said front piston is larger in its effective area functioning as a piston head than that of said rear piston so that when the pressure of molten resin increases the differential moving piston slides backward to open the gate against the spring by the backward pushing differential force between the total pressure on the front piston and the total pressure on the rear piston.

    摘要: A nozzle retention arrangement is provided for an injection molding manifold system, such as a hot runner manifold system. The nozzle retention arrangement couples an injection nozzle to a distribution manifold in a manner that locates the nozzle in its final operating position and applies an initial assembly load to retain the nozzle in position on the manifold to facilitate installation of a manifold system into a manifold plate. The nozzle retention arrangement may provide a compliant load application feature to limit sealing surface pressure between the nozzle and the manifold to prevent surface damage between the components, while also accommodating thermal expansion of the heated components during operation of the system. The nozzle retention arrangement may also provide a load control feature to prevent the machining quality of the nozzle bore in the manifold plate from determining the sealing load between the nozzle and the manifold.
