Abstract: Method for checking the suitability of a moulding tool for a defined moulding process includes providing an electronic dataset in which each of different features of a moulding tool has a range of possible values; selecting a feature of the electronic dataset as a characterizing feature; establishing an identity of the moulding tool by at least one value of the value range of the characterizing feature, wherein a moulding tool to be checked is regarded as identical to the moulding tool precisely when the established value is present in relation to the characterizing feature; providing an electronic tool dataset including a plurality of different features; allocating the electronic tool dataset to the moulding tool with the established identity by a computing unit; and checking the electronic tool dataset with the computing unit in relation to the suitability of a moulding tool with the established identity in the defined moulding process.

Abstract: A method of monitoring and controlling a molding clamping apparatus in an injection molding or other molding process is disclosed. The method includes creating a target strain profile, receiving a deviation limit, receiving a change in strain relating to a mold while it is closing from a first strain gauge, identifying a deviation from a target strain profile based on the output from the first strain gauge, determining that the deviation exceeds the deviation limit, and adjusting the rate or force of clamp movement. The target strain profile may have a first portion relating to a clamp closing process, a second portion relating to a filling process, and a third portion relating to a clamp opening process. The first portion relating to the clamp closing process may include an intermediate portion relating to a coining process having an intermediate clamp force setpoint.

Abstract: A plastic injection-moulding machine includes an injection unit for processing a plastic mass, and a closing unit having an injection-moulding tool with a cavity, into which plastic mass is injected by the injection unit to produce a moulded part. A machine controller controls the injection unit and the closing unit according to a machine program running on the machine controller. A user interface device communicates with the machine controller and has a screen for displaying text information and/or image information. The machine controller includes a data memory for storing the text information and/or image information in the form of data sets, and a process generator for manually assigning each state parameter of the plastic injection-moulding machine a data set. The process generator automatically writes the data set into the data memory or automatically reads out the data set for display on the screen in accordance with the associated state parameter.

Abstract: A method is described for operating an injection moulding machine, which has one or more movable machine parts which can be moved by suitable drives along specifiable travelling distances. Movement of a movable machine part is repeated cyclically. In order to reduce the movement times of the movable machine parts to a minimum, provision is made for one or more of the movable machine parts to successively reduce the power reserves of one or more of the drives associated with a movable machine part, until a specifiable minimum of power reserve is reached, wherein the minimum can be zero. In each cycle, the power reserve of the drive or drives is determined and is successively reduced, in particular from cycle to cycle. A movable platen, an ejector, a core puller, a plasticizing screw and/or an injection piston can be provided as movable machine part.

The injection molding method conducts clamping, filling, pressure holding, and cooling for the first die and the second die by a clamping force previously specified on the basis of a sample with which pressure in the cavity during a cooling process indicates a minimum and which is specified from samples of clamping forces.
