    Abstract: A tire comprises a tread portion having a tire equator C and a first tread edge Te1. The tread portion is provided with a first main groove extending continuously in the tire circumferential direction and a first land region. The first main groove is provided on its axially outer groove wall with recessed portions recessed axially outwardly and arranged in the tire circumferential direction. The first land region is provided with first lateral grooves each comprising a first portion connected with the first main groove to form an opening and a second portion having a groove width smaller than the first portion and disposed axially inside thereof. At least a part of the opening of at least one of the first lateral grooves faces one of the recessed portions in the tire axial direction.

    Abstract: A vehicle wheel tire includes a tire tread having a circumferential center tread region in which block elements are arranged in a symmetric pattern on opposite sides of a tire circumferential equatorial centerplane. Symmetrically disposed block elements on opposite sides of the centerplane have a plurality of spaced apart and laterally extending wavy sipes extending across the block element. Selective pairs of adjacent sipes are interconnected by one or more circumferentially oriented notches. The wavy sipes have regions of varying depth and include one or more recessed region(s) and one or more non-recessed region(s). A circumferentially disposed notch interconnecting a pair of adjacent wavy sipes at opposite notch ends intersects the wavy sipes at non-recessed sipe regions.

    Abstract: A plurality of shallow grooves which are shallower than a sipe are formed on land sections formed on treads of a pneumatic tire. The shallow grooves are configured so that a total sectional area of the shallow grooves per unit area in a cross section in a tire width direction in at least one of tread end areas arranged at end sides of the tread surface in the tire width direction or land end areas arranged at portions adjacent to a drain main groove on the land sections becomes larger than a total sectional area of the shallow grooves per unit on the other areas.
