摘要: A pneumatic tire, including: a lug groove opening at an end of a ground contact surface of a tread portion and extending toward the tire equatorial plane of the ground contact surface to terminate before reaching the tire equatorial plane; a communication groove making a corresponding pair of the lug grooves located on respective sides of the tire equatorial plane communicate with each other; and at least one widthwise groove, formed in a ground contact surface region demarcated between the end of the ground contact surface and the tire equatorial plane and between one pair and another pair adjacent thereto in the tread circumferential direction of the lug grooves and the communication groove communicating therewith, such that the widthwise groove extends in a direction of a tread width and an end thereof on the outer side in the tread width direction terminates within the ground contact surface region.

摘要: A pneumatic tire includes inner land portions, formed between a center main groove and outer main grooves on both sides of the center main groove, which are divided into blocks by sub-grooves. A pair of the sub-grooves positioned on both sides of the center main groove is inclined in the same direction with respect to the tire width direction, disposed such that openings on the center main groove side overlap in the tire circumferential direction, and the circumferential components of the sub-grooves are continuous throughout the tire circumference. A groove width of the sub-grooves changes at a middle portion in the length direction such that the sub-grooves include a narrow width section positioned on the outer main groove side and have a groove width W1 that is relatively small, and a wide section positioned on the center main groove side and having a groove width W2 that is relatively large.

摘要: A tire is a tire in which circumferential grooves, and lug grooves comprising opening portion in tread end and which extend in the tread width direction from the tread end to the circumferential groove, are formed. Projection parts are provided in the groove bottom of the circumferential grooves. The projection parts extend from one side wall forming a circumferential groove to the other side wall opposite the one side wall. Multiple lug grooves are formed at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction. In the tread surface view of the tire, given points of intersection as the points at which a circumferential groove extension that passes through a circumferential groove intersects with a lug groove extension that passes through a lug groove, the projection parts are provided between a first point of intersection and a second point of intersection adjacent to the first point of intersection in the circumferential direction.

摘要: The present invention provides structures on the tread of a tire that improve the evacuation of mud, soil and the like. In particular, different tread features are provided that may improve the evacuation of mud, soil and the like by themselves or by strategically combining them. These different tread features may be tested to see how they affect mud evacuation at different rotational speeds by a test apparatus that mimics the performance of a tire. For example, a tread that has offset shoulder tread blocks, which shows good mud evacuation at lower speeds, may be combined with shoulder grooves with pockets that show good mud evacuation at intermediate speeds to see if this combination provides a solution that has the lowest change of speed necessary to evacuate 50-87% of the mud found in the grooves.

Each of the central blocks includes a ground contacting face having an axially inner block edge facing the tire equator. The inner block edge extends in a V-shaped manner including a first inclined edge and a second inclined edge inclined in an opposite direction to the first inclined edge. The second inclined edge has a circumferential length shorter than a circumferential length of the first inclined edge. Each of the central blocks includes a first portion having the first inclined edge and a second portion having the second inclined edge. The second portion of the central block includes an end wall at an opposite side to the first portion. The end wall includes a stepwise wall extending in steps toward a groove bottom.

The aperture is positioned and sized in a manner that reduces stresses and/or strains in the tread block so as to reduce thermal wear. Certain variations in the depth and shape of the aperture are provided. Such tread feature can provide for a tire capable of operating at higher speeds for a given load.

摘要: A center block and a second block that satisfy h1/H=0.05 to 0.4 and w1/W=0.05 to 0.4 are formed on a tread, where H is the block height, h1 is the drop in height of a chamfered part, w1 is the breadth of the chamfered part and W is the length of the block tread in a circumferential direction. When traveling on hard pavement, the chamfered part of the block contacts the hard pavement first and, compared to a case in which an edge that does not have a chamfered part contacts a hard pavement, the ground-contact surface area can be increased and steering stability on hard pavement can be improved. Further, in rough terrain, resistance received from a road surface at the time of ground contact is reduced, travel resistance is suppressed and steering stability is improved.
