    摘要: A sealing, trimming or finishing strip (4) comprises a longitudinally extending sealing part (6) defining a longitudinal hollow interior which becomes partially compressed in use, the hollow interior of the sealing part being provided with means (27) for controlling the compression of the sealing part (6). In an embodiment described, the compression controlling means (27) comprises an interior wall (22) spanning the hollow of the sealing part and thereby defining first and second longitudinally extending hollows (24, 26). The interior wall (22) includes a portion of relatively large cross-section, bulbous cross-section. The compression controlling means (27) may provide a “stop” which prevents or substantially reduces any further compression of the sealing part (6) beyond a desired amount.

    摘要: A door glass run attaches to a door frame of a vehicle for guiding upward and downward movement of a glass window. In the door glass run of this invention, a plurality of grooves formed in the bottom surface of the door glass run extend lengthwise and are spaced widthwise from each other at predetermined intervals. According to one embodiment, the grooves are arranged so as to successively increase in cross-sectional areas thereof from a centermost groove or centermost grooves to outermost grooves. According to another embodiment, the bottom surface of the door glass run includes both a central surface portion that is flat and free of grooves and side surface portions, which are formed on opposite side walls of the flat central surface portion and have grooves formed therein.

    摘要: In effectuating a urethane bond for an auto gripper molding of a type constructed of rubber a crown heretofore used to cover the gap surrounding the windshield peripheral edge is not used for a gap-covering function and instead the windshield-attached gripper molding is installed upside down and the crown is thus seated inside of the gap and in this position the cured urethane mechanically interlocks with notches providing in the surface of the crown in facing relation to the urethane. The interlocking prevents both unseating movement in the installed windshield and also gap-exposing movement in the crown as might allow undesirable water seepage into the gap.

    摘要: Tubular sealing joint mounted along the edge of a closure element of an automobile body. It comprises a tubular member made of flexible extruded material and having a longitudinal sealing face coming in contact with another closure element of the automobile body, in closed condition of the closure elements. It is provided with spaced groups of parallel flexible sealing lips extending along the tubular member and contiguously disposed transversely of the tubular member, the flexible sealing lips being intended to compensate localized flattening of the tubular member and being integral with it. Also disclosed is an extrusion head for extruding the sealing joint, comprising a die having a central core and an outer bored body spacedly surrounding the core to define therebetween a passage for the extrusion of an elongated tubular member. The outer body is formed along a portion of its bore with contiguous lip-forming grooves opening into the extrusion passage. A diaphragm plate is in contact with the outer body and has an inner surface corresponding in shape with the bore portion of the outer body and is formed with like contiguous grooves defining lips therebetween. The diaphragm plate is rocked from a position wherein the lips of the diaphragm plate lie over the grooves of the outer body to obturate them and a position wherein the lips lie away from them to liberate them for the extrusion of flexible lips over a predetermined length of the tubular member.
