摘要: A refrigerating machine (10) of the refrigerator or freezer type comprises a device (33) for defrosting cold parts to transform the ice into water to be discharged. It has an end-of-defrosting detector (20) comprising:(1) a reservoir (24) which receives the water to be discharged, one of the branches (23) of a siphon (21) extending into said reservoir in order to drain the reservoir when the water reaches the level required for activation of the siphon, the other branch (22) being situated externally of the reservoir,(2) a light barrier (27, 28), comprising a light source and a light receiver arranged around the other branch (22) of the siphon in such a way that the light beam of the light barrier is interrupted by the passage of water through said other branch while defrosting is in progress, and(3) a electric circuit (30, 31, 32, 34) which stops defrosting when the light beam is not interrupted for a predetermined time.

摘要: A defrost-water vaporizer of a refrigerator includes a water reservoir mounted in a machine compartment with a compressor so as to receive defrost water resulting from the melting of frost adherent to an evaporator to be discharged outside a storage space of the refrigerator, a plurality of vaporizing elements absorbing the defrost water in the water reservior by capillarity and vaporizing the defrost water from the surfaces, a lower support formed from an elastic material and supporting the vaporizing elements in the water reservior, and an upper support formed from an elastic material and supporting the upper ends of the vaporizing elements. Lower ends of the vaporizing elements are inserted in the water reservoir so as to come into contact with the defrost water in the water reservoir. Upper ends of the vaporizing elements are positioned higher than the compressor.

摘要: A refrigerator has a machine compartment located at its top end. The refrigerator includes a drain tube and a pump coupled to the drain tube and located at the bottom end of the refrigerator. The pump transfers the accumulated condensation from the drain tube to a pan located at the top end of the refrigerator. The heat and airflow generated by the machine compartment then evaporates the condensation from the pan.

摘要: A refrigerating unit including a base, a heat exchanger, and a shroud attached to the base The heat exchanger may have opposite side edges defined by a pair of substantially cylindrical headers, at least one of the headers having an inlet tube or an outlet tube extending, and a substantially rectangular shroud attached to the base and being provided with notched corners. The shroud has a top surface with at least one elongate boss, and integrally-formed resilient gripping portions which capture the heat exchanger headers. The heat exchanger is mounted to the base through engagement with the shroud, clearance is provided between a shroud notched corner and the inlet or outlet tube, and the boss provides a means for supporting the shroud when placed upside down.
