摘要: A gas sensor includes: a sensor element including an element body which is internally provided with a measurement-object gas flow portion that introduces a measurement-object gas and causes the measurement-object gas to flow, a measurement pump cell having an inner measurement electrode disposed in a measurement chamber and an adjustment pump cell that adjusts an oxygen concentration in an oxygen concentration adjustment chamber, a necessity determiner that performs a refresh necessity determination process of determining necessity of a refresh of the sensor element based on at least one of undershoot or overshoot at a time of rapid change in a measurement pump current; and a refresh controller that, upon a determination that the refresh is necessary in the refresh necessity determination process, performs a refresh process including at least one of an adjustment pump control process during refresh or a measurement pump control process during refresh.

摘要: A gas sensor is provided which has improved responsiveness and is capable of improving accuracy in measurement of an imbalance between cylinders. The gas sensor includes a solid electrolyte having oxygen ion conductivity, a measurement electrode mounted on one principal surface of the solid electrolyte and is exposed to measurement gas, and a reference electrode mounted on the other principal surface of the solid electrolyte and exposed to reference gas A. Interface capacitance between crystal particles constituting the solid electrolyte is not more than 150 μF. Interface resistance between the crystal particles constituting the solid electrolyte and each of the measurement electrode and the reference electrode is not more than 80 Ω. The measurement electrode has a film thickness t1 of 2 to 8 μm.

摘要: A limiting-current type gas sensor including a sensor element including a base part made of an oxygen-ion conductive solid electrolyte and measuring concentration of NOx in a measurement gas includes: a pump cell including a first electrode disposed to be capable of being in contact with a gas introduced into the element and a second electrode disposed so that a part made of the solid electrolyte is located between the first electrode and the second electrode; and a pumping diagnostic part to determine whether an inter-electrode electric field produced in the part made of the solid electrolyte through application of a predetermined pump voltage between the electrodes exceeds a first threshold, and, when the inter-electrode electric field exceeds the first threshold, the predetermined pump voltage is reduced so that the inter-electrode electric field falls below the first threshold.

摘要: A sub adjustment pump cell pumps out oxygen from a measurement gas introduced into a sub adjustment chamber to the extent that H2O and CO2 contained in the measurement gas are not decomposed, a first pump cell pumps out oxygen from a first chamber so that substantially all of H2O and CO2 contained in the measurement gas introduced from the sub adjustment chamber into the first chamber are decomposed, concentrations of H2O and CO2 are identified from a pump-in current when H2 and CO generated by decomposition are oxidized in the second chamber and the third chamber, and a concentration of oxygen contained in the measurement gas is identified based on a magnitude of a current flowing between a sub adjustment inner electrode and an outer electrode at the time when the sub adjustment pump cell pumps out oxygen from the sub adjustment chamber.

摘要: A SOx concentration acquiring apparatus of the invention comprises a sensor cell, a diffusion-limited layer, and an interior space. The sensor cell is formed by a solid electrolyte layer and sensor electrodes provided on opposite surfaces of the solid electrolyte layer, respectively. The interior space is defined by the solid electrolyte layer and the diffusion-limited layer such that an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine flows into the interior space through the diffusion-limited layer. The apparatus executes a first voltage control for increasing and decreasing a voltage applied to the sensor cell and then, a second voltage control for increasing and decreasing the voltage. The apparatus acquires a current flowing through the sensor cell while the apparatus decreases the voltage in the second voltage control and acquire a SOx concentration of the exhaust gas on the basis of the acquired current.

A Nernst cell is exposed to the common gas chamber and the reference air chamber and provides a reference signal indicative of an oxygen difference between the common gas chamber and the reference gas chamber. An oxygen electrochemical pump cell is exposed to the common gas chamber to provide an oxygen signal indicative of an oxygen-only concentration. A gas electrochemical cell is exposed to the common gas chamber and the reference gas chamber and provides a gas signal indicative of a gas concentration. A processor includes a pulsation module that provides a positive and a negative excitation voltage to the gas electrochemical cell for a duration and that are each followed by a decay curve indicative of the gas concentration.

摘要: A sensor system includes a common gas chamber and a reference gas chamber respectively configured to receive an exhaust gas and a reference gas. A Nernst cell is exposed to the common gas chamber and the reference air chamber. The Nernst cell provides a reference signal indicative of an oxygen difference between the common gas chamber and the reference air chamber. An oxygen electrochemical pump cell is exposed to the common gas chamber and exhaust gas and provides an oxygen signal indicative of an oxygen only concentration. A NOx electrochemical cell is exposed to the common gas chamber and provides a NOx signal indicative of a NOx concentration. A processor is in communication with the Nernst cell, the oxygen-only electrochemical pump cell and NOx electrochemical cells. The processor outputs oxygen and NOx signals and provide a NOx concentration and oxygen concentration of the exhaust.

A protrusion is formed on a corner portion facing the insulator, the protrusion contacting with the insulator. An end face of the outer flange portion is positioned radially closer to an outer side with respect to a radial direction, than a position of an end face of the inner flange portion.
