    摘要: A maintenance and diagnostic system for a printing machine, preferably a sheet-fed offset printing machine, includes a control system having at least one computer and is connected to signal transmitters that are sensors and/or limit switches. The main drive and other drives of the printing machine are activated via the sensors and/or limit switches. The control system is operatively connected to a control-desk computer containing data on print jobs that are carried out. The control system is arranged to provide a diagnostic and inspection system for printing machines to be used for planning necessary maintenance work in advance to the greatest possible extent such that the downtimes of the printing machine required for maintenance work are minimized. The control system includes a maintenance and inspection computer which is operatively connected to the control system and to the control-desk computer. Signals can be recorded by the control system onto the maintenance and inspection computer. Also, signals sent by the printing machine drives and the signal transmitters are fed to the maintenance and inspection computer. The maintenance and inspection computer uses such signals to determine the condition of consumable materials, and variables representing the stress on and wear of printing machine components provided, and also to determine the times and the extent of appropriate maintenance measures based on such conditions and variables.

    摘要: A system is provided to allow for automated scheduling and completion of print jobs in a printing machine. A generic system for describing functionality of various modules forming a print engine is described. Such a module description is provided for each of a plurality of subassemblies which form the printing machine. A component communicates description information about itself to a scheduling unit once it is integrated into a complete printing machine. The scheduling unit, in turn, analyzes all functions available from various subassemblies comprising the machine. This analysis returns data representative of all available functions to the printing machines. Upon receipt of user input on one or more printing jobs, the scheduler then correlates the user information with the available properties of the printing machine to schedule an efficient completing of all printing tasks.

    摘要: An industrial local area network module comprises a transceiver for supporting communication between the module and a communications network in a first data format. The module further comprises a parallel interface for supporting communication between the module and a respective embedded controller in a second data format.     摘要: Microprocessor-controlled adapter circuit for real-time controls, in particular for print hammer controls in line printers with revolving type carrier with two asynchronously driven FIFO buffers (FIRST IN, FIRST OUT). The first FIFO buffer contains time values (e.g., firing times for the print hammers) and the second FIFO buffer control information associated with these time values (e.g., print hammer address, control commands for the print hammer). By a request circuit (e.g., counters), the time values are successively read from the first FIFO buffer and fed to a gate circuit for switching the control information, associated with these time values, from the second FIFO buffer for controlling the output values.A method of determining the firing times of the print hammers uses a reduced table in which for each character in each print position the positions (time values), in which the character is to be printed, are stored only for some displacement values of the revolving type carrier relative to the printer frame. For the remaining displacement values, the time values for character printing can be determined by division, using the table data.Mechanical or electrical tolerances influencing the firing times of the print hammers are compensated for by accommodating in the table additional correction delay values for the print hammers, thus eliminating adjustments.
