摘要： A method in accordance with the invention includes prompting a user to align a mobile device with a geometric feature (e.g., a window sill, corner, etc.) of a window. The method further determines a position and orientation of the window using sensors of the mobile device. Based on the position and orientation of the window, the method determines a position of the sun over time relative to the window. The method automatically adjusts a window covering of the window to take into account the position of the sun over time. For example, the method may automatically tilt slats of a window blind or open or close a window covering to take into account the position of the sun over time. A corresponding system is also disclosed herein.

摘要： An apparatus in accordance with the invention includes a motor and a gearbox coupled to the motor and comprising an output shaft configured to actuate a window covering. A position encoder, directly driven by the output shaft, is configured to measure at least one of an angular position and a number of rotations of the output shaft. The angular position and number of rotations may be used to calculate an angular position of slats of a window blind and/or an amount a window covering is opened or closed. A corresponding method is also disclosed herein.

摘要： A germ cleanable pull cord includes an inner layer coated with an outer layer. Preferably, one end of the germ cleanable pull cord is knotted and retained in a call box or the like. The outer layer must have a smooth exterior surface free from ridges, pits, projections, or other surface irregularities to prevent germs from being retained thereupon after cleaning. The outer layer must also be able to endure multiple cleanings with a germicidal or antiseptic cleaning medium.

A control member and a pull switch are received in the socket and connected to each other. An electrical cable is connected to the control member via the base and the post. A bulb frame is connected to the socket and a first connection wire connected between the control member and the bulb frame. A second connection wire is connected between the pull switch and the bulb frame. A chain is connected to the pull switch and extends through the aperture of the socket. The control member is activated by touching the chain.

摘要： A control wand for use in connection with a ceiling fan for grasping the pull chain and for movement of the motor directional control button thereon. The control wand includes an elongated rod-shaped body with an integral handle formed at one end. The end has a right angle bent portion with a hook-shaped element formed at an end region thereof. The spacing between the hook element and the right angle bent portion is sufficiently large to permit the pull chain to fit therein, but sufficiently small to prevent the passage of an enlarged end of the pull chain to pass therethrough when the wand engages the pull chain and is pulled in a downward direction. The right angle bent portion at the second end of the control wand presents flat upper and lower edges which provide engagement surfaces for moving the directional control button upwardly and downwardly.
