摘要: A rotary nozzle which is simple in construction and easy to manufacture its bricks, has no danger of leakage of molten steel and is capable of rotatably connecting a collector nozzle and a long nozzle. The rotary nozzle includes a fixed plate brick attached to a base member and having at least a sliding surface thereof formed to incline with an angle of .theta..degree., a slide plate surface having at least a sliding surface thereof formed as an inclined surface corresponding to the sliding surface of the fixed plate brick and fixedly mounted, along with a collector nozzle, in a supporting member, and a frame vertically displaceably supporting the supporting member through a plurality of spring means and bolts and adapted to be driven by driving means mounted on the base member. The lower end of the collector nozzle is formed into a spherical shape so as to ensure its smooth connection with a long nozzle and its rotation.

摘要: A non-reversible plate having a depending tube structure with a discharge opening at the bottom in which there is a plate at the upper portion, rectangular in configuration, and which has an irregular anti-reversal collar beneath the plate portion is disclosed. Desirably the collar is elliptical in configuration and has a major axis at least seven millimeters longer than the minor axis. The longer axis is parallel with the length dimension. Another aspect of the invention is the utilization of a toggle actuated plate changing device which swings in and out of position and can only be actuated when the plate and tube intended for insertion presents the length for insertion into the valve structure. Suitable microswitch or related device is provided to permit actuation of the change actuator, but only when the plate is properly oriented for insertion. The method of the present invention includes the steps of pre-orienting and proportioning a tube or shroud having a plate at the upper portion for insertion into a plate changer assembly.

摘要: A sliding gate valve for metallurgical vessels, such as pouring ladles, is disclosed. The sliding gate valve may include a slide gate housing fastenable to a melt-containing vessel. A heat-resistant closure plate may be held stationary by a movable slide plate pressing against the closure plate. The slide plate may be supported in a frame having two sets of rollers. The frame may be connected to a drive, for example a hydraulic or pneumatic drive. An aperture may be provided in the housing bottom for passage of the frame rollers therethrough. The distance corresponding to the axial spacing between the sets of rollers is equivalent to the distance corresponding to the axial spacing between side apertures of the bottom aperture. The axial spacing between the rollers corresponds to the axial spacing between the side apertures to allow for the simultaneous passage of both sets of rollers through the side apertures. The frame may be guided in the housing on a slide comprising side aperture closing portions which may be displaced to open and close the side apertures of the housing bottom. The frame and the slide may be provided with bores that may be temporarily and rigidly connected with each other by a connecting bolt. Each roller of one set of rollers may be equipped with a releasable connecting bolt cooperating with a housing receptacle.

摘要: A sliding gate valve of a metallurgic vessel comprises a carriage. The carriage comprises a plate frame for supporting a first refractory plate and the plate frame is slideably mounted on a carriage support structure for sliding along a first axis. The carriage comprises a selecting device for selecting between a first stroke ΔX1 and a second stroke ΔX2 by moving a blocking member between a blocking and a non-blocking position. When the blocking member is located in the blocking position a first bumper portion of the plate frame is bumping into the blocking member if the plate frame is to slide beyond a nominal end-position. When the blocking member is located in the non-blocking position the first bumper portion is not bumping into the blocking member if the plate frame is to slide beyond a nominal end-position, thereby allowing the plate frame to slide beyond the nominal end-position to a service end-position.

摘要: Sliding closure for a receptacle containing molten metal includes a housing frame that can be fastened to a spout of the receptacle, a first refractory base plate and a sliding unit having a refractory sliding plate that is sealingly pressed against the first base plate by spring elements and a contiguous refractory spout sleeve contained in the housing frame. The case has a second base plate juxtaposed to the first base plate and displaceable inside the housing frame at a right angle to the direction of movement of the sliding unit from an initial position in which the first base plate is in an operating position towards a final position in which the second base plate is in the operating position. It is therefore possible to replace the base plate, which wears outs quickly, by a new base plate in a rapid and convenient manner without interrupting the casting operation.

摘要: A closing apparatus for the bottom pouring hole of a casting ladle, comprising a mounting plate mounted on the bottom of the ladle with a head plate resting against it, in which head plate a port is formed to pour out the melt, and further comprising a slide plate supported for pivoting movement about two axes and adapted to be pressed resiliently against the head plate. The slide plate is supported for reciprocating movement inside a housing. The housing is supported by a housing carrier structure, especially between the legs of carrier bracket for the housing, for pivoting movement about a first pivot axis, while the carrier bracket for the housing is supported by the mounting plate for pivoting about a second pivot axis. The first and second pivot axes extend parallel to each other and to the sealing face between the head and slide plates.
