Abstract: A pivotable disc closure actuator, a closure including the actuator and the closure combined with a bottle or other container. The actuator includes a closing surface which includes a product dispensing opening at a front thereof, at least two pivots on the closing surface, an extension panel extending from a peripheral wall of the closing surface and having a locking and an unlocking position, the pivots being intermediate the product opening and the extension panel, and the extension panel having a latch member extending inwardly toward the closing surface when the extension panel is in the locked position. The closure may include a closure base which may in turn include a cutout or opening in its outer wall. In its locked position the extension panel may rest on a surface of the cut out or outer wall to prevent the actuator from rotating from its closed position to an open position.

Abstract: A valve assembly for a dispensing container includes a closure body detachably coupled to a co-injected valve. The closure body includes a main closure body coupled to a closure cap via a flexible hinge. The co-injected valve includes a valve head and a valve frame. The valve head includes a valve head portion with multiple valve head slits, a sleeve portion, and a peripheral sealing flange. The valve frame is permanently coupled to the valve head and includes a radial ledge and a radial wall that support the peripheral sealing flange of the valve head. The co-injected valve is fabricated via a two-step injection molding process. The first step includes fabricating the valve frame from a first injection material, and the second step includes fabricating the valve member from a second injection material.

In some embodiments, a bottle having a closure cap includes a control device, a base, and a disk, where the base and disk define a mixing chamber configured to facilitate mixing of any serum or liquid separated from the fluid back therein. In some embodiments, a dispensing bottle includes a non-removable closure cap with a tamper evident feature that indicates whether the cap was previously opened. By one approach, the dispensing bottle includes discontinuous threads on a bottle neck and ratchet projections on a closure cap that engage the discontinuous thread(s) to prevent or inhibit manual removal of the cap from the bottle.

Abstract: A system for regulating fluid flow having a processor configured to reduce image noise is provided. The system includes an image sensor to capture an image of the drip chamber. The processor captures the image of the drip chamber using the image sensor, performs an edge detection on the image to generate a first processed image, and performs an AND-operation on a pixel on a first side of an axis of the first processed image with a corresponding mirror pixel on a second side of the axis of the first processed image to generate a second processed image.

Abstract: A self-closing dispensing valve is made of an elastic material and includes a valve head with a dispensing orifice, a circular peripheral retaining flange spaced apart from the valve head in an axial direction, and a connecting sleeve integrally connected with the valve head on one end and the retaining flange on another end. The dispensing orifice is formed by at least three slits in the valve head, where the slits converge at a centre of the valve head and are angularly evenly distributed around the centre of the valve head. The valve head includes a number of lobes, where in each of the lobes at least one of the slits is formed. Each of the lobes has a tip region on a radial outer end of the lobe, where the tip regions of the respective lobes lie approximately on an imaginary circle.
