    摘要: An apparatus and system for attaining maximum unidirectional response to vibration damping of a printed circuit board (PCB) or other planar surface utilizing a defined travel displacement of a single tungsten (or other material) cylindrical rod in a single or plurality of sealed cylindrical chambers in a particle impact damper (PID). The single tungsten (or other material) cylindrical rod is not weighed down, constrained, encumbered within the chamber; accordingly, providing unrestricted freedom for the cylinder to quickly respond in a unidirectional direction at the first occurrence of excessive vibrational acceleration over 1G. The structure of a single cylindrical particle within a sealed cylindrical chamber also provides a path of minimum distance for the cylinder to travel before colliding with the ceiling or floor of the PID chamber. A plurality of cylindrical chambers can be arranged in a variety of patterns within the PID housing such as desired. The PID housing can be any shape such as a cube, a rectangular cuboid, a cylinder, sphere, triangular tetrahedron, triangular prism, polygon, toroid or any combination of shapes.

There is also provided a use of an adsorptive material for the purpose of lowering the spring rate of an air spring, including a gas strut and a pneumatic wheel. There is also provided a method of designing an air spring using an adsorptive material to lower the spring rate.

    摘要: A height adjustment device used on furniture includes an inner tube having multiple clamp portions and multiple contact portions extending from the inner periphery thereof. Multiple grooves are defined in the outer periphery of the inner tube. A pneumatic tube is inserted into the inner tube and clamped by the contact portions. The inner tube is located in an outer tube that has a bottom cap and a top cap. Multiple ridges extend from the inner periphery of the outer tube. Each reduced opening accommodates the ridge corresponding thereto. The pneumatic tube has a piston rod and is connected to the bottom cap of the outer tube. The piston rod drives the inner tube to move relative to the outer tube. Multiple roller units are connected to ridges and roll the grooves of the inner tube to reduce friction between the inner tube and the outer tube.

    摘要: A swiveling arrangement with a swiveling element swivelable around an axis powered and damped by a gas spring having a cylinder filled with gas and divided into first and second working chambers by a piston that has a piston rod guided through the second working chamber and a guiding and sealing unit. A first connection opened during an outward stroke of the piston from the second to the first working chamber, and a second connection is opened during an inward stroke from the first to the second working chamber that has a smaller cross-sectional flow area than the first connection. An auxiliary piston separates the second working chamber from an auxiliary chamber. A third connection from the auxiliary chamber to the second working chamber opened in the end move-out stroke and a fourth connection from the second working chamber to the auxiliary chamber opened in the move-in stroke.
