    摘要: A concentric insulation sleeve is disclosed having multi-layered structure. The outer layer exhibits low smoke and fume and non-halogen properties important for use of fiber optic cable assemblies in confined space susceptible to combustion conditions. The inner layer exhibits anti-static properties, and optionally slippery properties, to make the assembly of fiber strands in the insulation less charged with static electricity. The cable can become associated with other cables and serve as mini-ducts and then be surrounded by another insulation sleeve of the same construction to form a cable duct.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a mechanically lined pipe (MLP) having an outer pipe and an inner liner comprising at least the steps of: (a) forming the outer pipe as a single length; (b) forming an inner liner former being wholly or substantially the same length as the outer pipe of step (a); (c) locating the inner liner former of step (b) within the outer pipe; and (d) expanding the inner liner former within the outer pipe to form the MLP. In this way, the conventional need to overcome problems with welding a number of pre-formed 12 m or 24 m bi-metallic pipe stalks to form a 1 km bi-metallic pipe are avoided, thus also avoiding weaknesses that can be a part of conventional stalk-welding processes for forming an MLP.

    摘要: Concentric, tubular sections are assembled by first securing annular centralizers and insulation about the external surface of the smaller diameter tube while the tube is horizontally disposed. The larger tube is then vertically aligned and lowered into a recessed area formed below the assembly area work level. A lifting cable, secured at one end to a lifting device, is extended through the smaller diameter tube and attached to a hoisting arrangement that vertically orients the tube concentrically over the larger diameter tube. Spring-loaded legs on the lifting device are manually retracted radially to permit the smaller tube to be lowered concentrically through the larger tube. The inner tube is lowered until the legs spring radially outwardly to engage the base of the larger tube. The entire assembly may then be lifted as a unit by the hoist with the lifting device, establishing the axial positions of the two tubes relative to each other. The centralizers closely engage the internal surface of the larger tube to centralize the inner tube and to prevent relative radial movement between the tubes. The external surface of the centralizers is specially configured to provide an interrupted line contact with the external tube, and the centralizers are rotated relative to each other to circumferentially displace points of contact with the external tube to minimize heat transfer.
