摘要： A magazine floor plate latch mechanism including a lever pivotally mounted in the trigger guard which lever is sized, shaped and housed so that it cannot be actuated from within the trigger guard. The lever protrudes from an exit located in the front of the trigger guard a sufficient distance to be actuable from the front of the guard to accomplish arcuate lever rotation to release the floor plate. Preferably, the lever does not protrude past the front of the trigger guard, thereby precluding inadvertent operation by a foreign object striking the front of the trigger guard.

摘要： A magazine is provided for housing a predetermined number of rim-fire cartridges in a double column configuration with minimal magazine width and length requirements. The magazine is configured so that the rims of the cartridges are automatically placed in a nested or staggered relationship when they are inserted and are maintained in that relationship as they move through the housing, so as to prevent cross over of the rims and jamming. The nested, side-by-side positional relationship of the cartridges in the magazine is changed to a single file relationship while the lateral force exerted on the cartridges is controlled and jamming caused by friction or deformation is prevented. The magazine has an arcuate shape with one end wall having a portion defined by a radius of about 5.29 inches. Three rails are positioned on the upper portion of one side wall. Rails and baffles are configured to avoid or reduce interference of debris or wax build-up. A method for making the magazine by injection molding parts to produce the desired rail structure is included.

摘要： An ammunition magazine for an automatic weapon wherein a spring-loaded con of successive cartridges are each fed in alignment to a firing chamber upon the reciprocating action of a bolt. The magazine has a pair of feed-gates, each of which is pivotally mounted on the magazine. The upper ends of the feed-gates together form a semi-circular, separably engaged, retaining cover for the top cartridge in the magazine. The lower ends of the feed-gates in sequence separably engage the next successive round in the magazine in response to the pivotal movement of the upper ends of both gates. This latter action keeps the successive round out of contact with the bolt while the top round is stripped and fed into the firing chamber by the bolt.

摘要： A cushioning pad adapted to be connected to the lower end of a gun cartridge clip and including a body of elastomeric material to be engaged by a user's hand in pressing the clip upwardly into the handle of the gun, and a reinforcing plate embedded within the elastomeric material and through which screws extend upwardly for connection into the bottom wall of the clip body, with the screws having heads applying upward force to the reinforcing element in a manner securing the pad on the clip. If the clip is of a type having a horizontally slidably removable bottom wall, the pad may be secured to that wall and contain a passage through which a tool is insertable upwardly to a position for engaging and releasing a latch element normally holding the bottom wall against detaching movement.
