摘要: Wearable electronic devices, such as watches, can be part of a modular system that provides a variety of different components and functions to achieve the results that are desired by a user. The modular configurations allow a user to easily customize a watch with one or more functional modules to provide features that integrate with other operations of the body of the watch. The functional modules can be easily exchanged with each other to provide different components and functions at different times. Accordingly, a watch body need not include permanent components that provide every function that will later be desired by the user. Instead, the watch can have expanded and customizable capabilities by the use of one or more functional modules.

摘要: An electronic device includes a processor configured to implement a user interface for allowing a user to interact with the electronic device. The electronic device further includes a bezel and at least two switches. The bezel is rotatably mounted on a housing of the electronic device. A plurality of teeth of the bezel sequentially activate the at least two switches during rotation of the bezel. The rotation of the bezel allows the user to interact with the electronic device on the basis of the user interface.

摘要: A smart watch comprises a case, a display device configured to present a user interface disposed in substantially all of a face of the case, a bezel around the display device configured to be rotated to select a mode of operation of the smart watch, and an analog first watch arm and an analog second watch arm disposed over the display, the second watch arm coaxial with the first watch arm. In a first mode of operation, the user interface presents a watch dial and control the first and second watch arms indicate a time of day first and second watch arms to indicate a time of day. In a second mode of operation, the user interface presents a dial and control the first and second watch arms form a pointer, the pointer configured to indicate a reading on the dial.

The supplemental physical display plane(s) at least partially surround the primary physical display plane. The method displays primary content on the primary physical display plane and supplemental content on the virtual display plane(s). The method also receives touch sensor input from a touch sensor of the smartwatch and maps the touch sensor input to interface element(s) of the supplemental content on the virtual display plane(s). The method selects the interface element(s) based on the mapping the touch sensor input to the interface element.

The wristwatch can reduce power consumption.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to providing time feedback on an electronic device, and in particular to providing non-visual time feedback on the electronic device. Techniques for providing non-visual time feedback include detecting an input and, in response to detecting the input, initiating output of a first type of non-visual indication of a current time or a second type of non-visual indication of the current time based on the set of non-visual time output criteria met by the input. Techniques for providing non-visual time feedback also include, in response to detecting that a current time has reached a first predetermined time of a set of one or more predetermined times, outputting a first non-visual alert or a second non-visual alert based on a type of watch face that the electronic device is configured to display.

摘要: An electronic device, such as a watch, has a housing to which a carrier is attached. The carrier has a first surface interior to the electronic device, and a second surface exterior to the electronic device. A set of electrodes is deposited on the exterior surface of the carrier. An additional electrode is operable to be contacted by a finger of a user of the electronic device while the first electrode is positioned against skin of the user. The additional electrode may be positioned on a user-rotatable crown of the electronic device, on a button of the electronic device, or on another surface of the housing of the electronic device. A processor of the electronic device is operable to determine a biological parameter of the user based on voltages at the electrodes. The biological parameter may be an electrocardiogram.

摘要: An input mechanism for a portable electronic device includes a rotational manipulation mechanism, such as a cap or shaft. The input mechanism also includes a sensor having first capacitive elements coupled to the manipulation mechanism, second capacitive elements, and a dielectric positioned between the first and second capacitive elements. Movement of the manipulation mechanism alters the positions of the first and second capacitive elements with respect to each other and is determinable based on capacitance changes resulting therefrom. In some implementations, the second capacitive elements may be part of an inner ring or partial ring nested at least partially within an outer ring or partial ring.
