摘要: A linear electromagnetic actuator has its core mounted to a can body forming apparatus and its coil attached to re-draw sleeve of such apparatus. The actuator provides for the axial movement of the re-draw sleeve between its fully retracted position and its fully extended position. The re-draw sleeve and the coil are coaxially mounted to each other so that the force exerted on the re-draw sleeve is also coaxial. Once the re-draw sleeve is in its fully extended position, an electromagnet is turned on so that the re-draw sleeve exerts the requisite force on the can material preform. The electromagnet is mounted coaxially about the re-draw sleeve and exerts its force on a magnetic material ring mounted to the re-draw sleeve to hold the re-draw sleeve against the can material preform.

摘要: A method of and apparatus for controlling forming press conditions aids in maintaining stability in a mechanical double action press forming provided with an upper die (inner) and an outer ram (outer). These dies are driven independently wherein press conditions related to the forming process, such as a hydraulic pressure and pneumatic pressure, are automatically corrected by feedback so as to be maintained to preset values corresponding to the change of the inner stroke during the forming process. Abnormal operation can also be detected and corrected immediately by detecting the change of the press conditions during the forming process continuously or intermittently.

摘要: Apparatus for drawing, or blanking and drawing, a flat metallic piece into a cup shape. A blanking punch, blanking die, draw die, movable stripper and a spacer are mounted on the stationary bed of a press. A pressure pad and draw punch are carried by the ram of a press. The pressure pad is positioned to contact first the blanking punch, then to contact the movable stripper and push it solidly against the spacer. As the ram continues its downward movement, the pressure pad collapses with respect to the ram by virtue of its connection to a piston operating in a cylinder in the ram containing controllable air pressure. The maintenance of a predetermined pressure pad-draw die gap during the draw prevents wrinkling, and the maintenance of the controlled pressure on the pressure pad prevents thinning and subsequent clipping of ears. The edge of the blank which is captured between the pressure pad and draw die is gradually pulled radially inward as the die approaches the bottom of its stroke and the wrinkling and thinning and clipping of ears of the blank which would take place during this pulling is prevented. On the upstroke of the ram air is injected into the draw punch to assist in stripping the finished cup from the punch, and the blanking punch and mounting plate are raised by springs, and the movable stripper raises the scrap upward for removal.

The method comprises providing a paint film; providing sheet metal having opposite major surfaces; laminating the paint film onto a major surface of the sheet metal to form a painted sheet metal laminate comprising a first portion and a second portion; permanently deforming the first portion of the painted sheet metal laminate into a formed portion of the article having a complex or compound curved three-dimensional shape; applying an initial force for securing the second portion of the painted sheet metal laminate during an initial stage of said permanently deforming step; and applying a later force for securing the second portion of the painted sheet metal laminate during a later stage of said permanently deforming step. The later applied force is greater than the initially applied force.

摘要: The die cushion force setting apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention allows die cushion forces (component forces) acting on plural driving shafts to be set easily, makes it easy to apply strong or weak die cushion forces to a complex-shaped drawn part in a plane of a cushion pad, and provides a smooth die cushion force distribution. An operator manually enters a total die cushion force, axial component force of a left front hydraulic cylinder, and center-of-force position by operating an input device. Based on the information entered via the input device, the numerical computing device B1 calculates axial component forces of three hydraulic cylinders through numerical computations. The one axial component force thus entered and three axial component forces thus computed numerically are set as the axial component forces of four hydraulic cylinders.
