摘要: A method to recover sulfur from hydrogen sulfide in an acid gas stream comprising the steps of reacting the hydrogen sulfide and oxygen in the combustion furnace, transferring heat from the furnace effluent to produce a boiler effluent, reducing the temperature of the boiler effluent in the sulfur condenser, separating the water vapor from the non-condensed gases stream, reacting the sulfur dioxide and the hydrogen gas to produce hydrogen sulfide in the first hydrogenation reactor, reacting the hydrogen sulfide and oxygen in the reactor furnace to produce a reactor effluent, transferring heat from the reactor effluent to produce a cooled effluent, reducing the temperature of the cooled effluent in the sulfur cooler to produce a gases stream, separating the water vapor from the gases stream, reacting the sulfur dioxide and the hydrogen gas to produce hydrogen sulfide in the second hydrogenation reactor to produce a treated tail gas stream.

摘要: Fluid-cooled impingement burners have an external conduit and a first internal conduit substantially concentric therewith forming a first annulus for passing a cooling fluid. A second internal conduit forms a second annulus between the first and second internal conduits. A burner tip body defined by an inner wall, an outer wall, and a half-toroid crown, the inner wall connected to the first internal conduit, the outer wall connected to the external conduit, the inner wall defining a central flow passage for a combustible mixture. A third internal conduit generally concentric with the external conduit and positioned between the external and the first internal conduits, a first end of the third internal conduit extending into but not connecting with the half-toroid crown. A first end of the second internal conduit recessed is below the half-toroid crown, and the position of the first ends of the second and third internal conduits delay combustion of fuel with the oxidant.

摘要: A burner 100 comprising a burner body 110 having a burner chamber with a backing plate 122 and having a burner element received in the burner chamber, the burner element having a plurality of gas nozzles 117 for supplying gas into the burner, the gas nozzles 117 each ending in a tip through which the gas exits and gas nozzle 117, and each gas nozzle being rotatable such that the direction of gas exiting the gas nozzle can be adjusted. The burner has means for rotating the gas nozzles 117 provided on the backing plate and by releasable means for retaining each gas nozzle 117 in a plurality of rotational configurations provided outside the burner chamber. The gas nozzles 117 further comprise first and second parts which are detachable from each other, the first part comprising the tip and the second part being upstream of the first part with respect to the flow of gas into the gas nozzles in use. The burner allows for tuning of gas flow from outside the burner while it is in use.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process and a facility for the continuous vitrification treatment of fibrous materials, and in particular of asbestos and/or of asbestos-containing materials.According to the invention, this process comprises the following steps: a bath of molten glass at a temperature of 1300° C. to 1600° C. is prepared; introduced into said bath of molten glass are said fibrous materials and optionally melting additives chosen so that said bath has, after addition of these fibrous materials and melting additives, the following composition: SiO2: between 30% and 55% by weight; FeO: between 25% and 45% by weight; alkali and alkaline-earth metal oxides: between 15% and 25% by weight; an oxidizer and a fuel are injected under pressure into said molten bath by means of at least one lance, one end of which is immersed in said bath; said oxidizer being introduced in a molar amount greater than or equal to the molar amount of fuel needed to maintain the temperature of the bath between 1300° C. and 1600° C.; and the temperature of at least one portion of the molten glass is lowered so as to render it solid.

The melting zone includes an expanding zone beginning at the inlet and extending to an intermediate location relative to the opposing ends, and a narrowing zone extending from the intermediate location to the outlet. One or more burners, at least some of which are positioned to direct combustion products into the melting zone under a level of molten glass in the zone, are also provided.

摘要: A high efficiency natural draft gas burner that uses a plate attached to the burner tube to block secondary air from being introduced into a firetube or confined space vessel, ensuring that only inspired air nearly homogenously mixed with fuel is ignited at the burner tip. The venturi may be sized and shaped to ensure proper mixing of the inspired air and fuel, thus reducing emissions. This proper mixing combined with the lack of secondary air may reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the burner by as much as 75%.
