摘要: A backplane connector includes a wafer and a mounting block. The wafer includes a number of conductive terminals, an insulating frame, a first metal shield and a second metal shield. The conductive terminal includes a contact portion, a tail portion and a connection portion. The conductive terminals include differential signal terminals, a first ground terminal and a second ground terminal. The first metal shield includes a first protruding piece. The second metal shield includes a second protruding piece. The mounting block includes a slot for passing through the tail portions of the differential signal terminals. The first protruding piece and the second protruding piece are at least partially inserted into the slot. This arrangement can provide better shielding adjacent to the tail portions of the differential signal terminals, reduce crosstalk, and improve the quality of signal transmission.

摘要: A high density coupling panel of the present disclosure presents a compact grouping of coupler wherein each of the couplers couples a first free connector with a second free connector wherein each of the free connectors is coupled to exactly two electrical conductors. The high density coupling panel can be manufactured in a shielded (e.g., metal) or non-shielded (e.g. non-metal) form as appropriate to a specific application. In the shielded configuration, a bonding strip is used to connect all metal components (e.g., shielded free connectors, shielded couplers, and metal panel of the high density coupling panel) to ground via a shielding tab.

摘要: A replaceable socket device includes adapters and a base. Each of the adapters include a jack and contacts disposed on a bottom of the adapters. The base includes sockets, an adapting interface disposed on the socket, and a coupling interface coupled to the adapting interface and an external power source. Each socket includes a bottom surface and a sidewall perpendicularly connected to the bottom surface. One of the adapters inserts in the socket via an opening formed by the bottom surface and the sidewall. The adapting interface is utilized to connect the socket and one of the adapters. The coupling interface is configured to conduct electrical signal from the external power source to the adapting interface. The structure of the adapting interface is used for allowing one of adapters to couple to the socket via the adapting interface. The adapting interface is lower than the bottom surface of the socket.

摘要: A backplane connector assembly includes a first backplane connector and a second backplane connector. The first backplane connector includes a number of first conductive terminals, a first insulating frame, a first metal shield and a second metal shield. The first metal shield includes a first elastic piece, and the second metal shield includes a second elastic piece. The second backplane connector includes a number of second differential signal terminals, an insulating block sleeved on the second differential signal terminals, and a metal shell sleeved on the insulating block. When the first backplane connector is mated with the second backplane connector, the first elastic piece and the second elastic piece are in contact with the metal shell to increase the grounding shielding area, reduce crosstalk and improve the quality of signal transmission.

摘要: An interconnection system with a compliant shield between a connector and a substrate such as a PCB. The compliant shield may provide current flow paths between shields internal to the connector and ground structures of the PCB. The connector, compliant shield and PCB may be configured to provide current flow in locations relative to signal conductors that provide desirable signal integrity for signals carried by the signal conductors. In some embodiments, the current flow paths may be adjacent the signal conductors, offset in a transverse direction from an axis of a pair of conductors. Such paths may be created by tabs extending from connector shields. A compliant conductive member of the compliant shield may contact the tabs and a conductive pad on a surface of the PCB. Shadow vias, running from the surface pad to internal ground structures may be positioned adjacent the tip of the tabs.

摘要: A direct mate orthogonal connector for a high density of high speed signals. The connector may include right angle leadframe assemblies with signal conductive elements and ground shields held by a leadframe housing. High frequency performance may be achieved with members on the leadframe that transfer force between a connector housing, holding the leadframe assemblies, and a portion of the leadframe housing holding the signal conductive elements and the shields near their mounting ends. Core members may be inserted into the housing and mating ends of the conductive elements of ground shields may be adjacent the core members, enabling electrical and mechanical performance of the mating interface to be defined by the core members. The core members may incorporate insulative and lossy features that may be complex to form as part of the connector housing but may be readily formed as part of a separate core member.

摘要: A connector assembly includes a cover assembly and a feedthrough assembly that couples with the cover assembly. The cover assembly receives a connector end of a lead having lead contacts, and aligns the lead contacts with pockets or apertures of the cover assembly. The feedthrough assembly may include feedthrough contacts in the form of feedthrough pins at or above a surface of a feedthrough substrate, or conductive vias on the surface of the substrate. Electrical contacts configured as leaf spring contact assemblies, torsion spring contacts, or torsion spring contact assemblies are permanently attached to the feedthrough contacts. When the cover assembly and feedthrough assembly are coupled, contact tabs of the electrical contacts are positioned in the pockets or apertures of the cover assembly. Upon complete seating of the cover assembly and feedthrough assembly, the contact tabs are compressed into contact with the lead contacts.
