Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for the indication of communication information using a correlation between synchronization signals transmitted by a base station for cell acquisition. The communication information may include a physical channel timing parameter such as synchronization periodicity, a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) periodicity, a beam sweep periodicity, or a cyclic prefix (CP) type. Communication information may also indicate the presence of a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) transmission or a mobility reference signal (MRS) transmission. The correlation may be a phase shift between multiple signals or may be based on precoding matrices used during transmission processing of the synchronization signals across subcarriers and antenna ports.

As another example, the user equipment may send channel information for a number of beams to the base station. In some aspects, the number of beams may be based on the type of channel that is used to send the uplink control information.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) may include receiving a beam training sequence transmitted by a network access device on a plurality of transmit beams, identifying, based at least in part on the received beam training sequence, one or more sets of multiple beams that are compatible with at least one configuration for routing signals between antenna subarrays of the UE and transceiver units (TXRUs) of the UE, and transmitting, to the network access device, an indication of the identified one or more sets of multiple beams. A method for wireless communication at the network device may include transmitting the beam training sequence, receiving the indication, and selecting, based at least in part on the received indication, a set of multiple beams of the one or more sets of multiple beams to use to communicate with the UE.

Abstract: According to an aspect of the disclosure, a base station may convey the parameter information to the UE based on selection of particular resources to be used for transmission of synchronization signals, where the selected resources correspond to the particular parameter information. The UE may blindly detect the synchronization signals on various candidate resources and determine the parameter information based on the resources where the synchronization signals are detected. The apparatus may be a base station. In an aspect, the base station determines parameter information of one or more parameters. The base station selects, based on the parameter information, synchronization resources from a plurality of candidate resources for transmission of one or more synchronization signals, where the selected synchronization resources correspond to the parameter information. The base station transmits the one or more synchronization signals using the selected synchronization resources.

Abstract: In wireless communication systems that support 5G or NR protocols, subframes used for communication may have different numerology options. Numerology options may refer to the characteristics of the subframe such as a tone spacing within each symbol of the subframe, a symbol duration for each symbol of the subframe, a number of symbols in the subframe, etc. A subframe may include a control channel (e.g., the PDCCH) and a data channel (e.g., the PDSCH). In an aspect, the control channel and the data channel within the subframe may have different numerologies. As such, a need exists to signal the numerology of the subframe to users and to determine whether and how to multiplex the control channel and the data channel into the subframe.

Abstract: Uplink transmission power levels may be adjusted in response to changes in a directional beam used for wireless communications. A beam change may be identified, wherein the beam change includes a transition from a first transmission configuration based on a first beam direction of a cell to a second transmission configuration based on a second beam direction of the cell. A downlink (DL) message associated with the beam change may be received, wherein the DL message comprises a transmission power indication. An uplink (UL) message may be transmitted at a power level based at least in part on the transmission power indication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for directional synchronization signal signals in a millimeter wave communication system. A user equipment (UE) may receive a narrowband signal component of a synchronization signal for the millimeter wave communications. The narrowband signal component may include correlation information. The UE may use the correlation information to identify a wideband signal component of the synchronization signal for the millimeter wave communications. The UE may search frequencies associated with a first frequency location determined from the correlation information to identify and detect the wideband signal component of the synchronization signal.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for assisted power control for an uplink signal transmitted during a RACH procedure. A UE may determine a transmit power for transmitting a message during a RACH procedure with a secondary BS, based at least in part, on communication between the UE and a primary BS. The UE may transmit the message to the second BS during the RACH procedure based, at least in part, on the determined transmit power.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for signaling and switching of beam pair links (BPLs) for directional transmission beams between a base station and a user equipment (UE). A threshold value may be determined, which corresponds to an amount of time for a UE to receive and decode control information, and apply a different BPL than a current BPL that that is in use. The UE may maintain a BPL for data, which is used during data transmission time intervals (TTIs) until an indication is received to change the BPL for data. The UE and the base station may determine to change between BPLs based at least in part on the threshold value and a scheduling offset between a control channel transmission that allocates resources for a data TTI and a start of the data TTI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may identify a set of power configurations for a plurality of communications with at least one target device. The set of power configurations may be based at least in part on a type of signal, a type of channel, a parameter of the wireless device, a parameter of the target device, or a combination thereof. The wireless device may then determine a duplexing mode for the plurality of communications based at least in part on the set of power configurations. The duplexing mode may be, for example, a full duplex mode or a half-duplex mode. The wireless device may then transmit the plurality of communications to and/or receive the plurality of communications from the at least one target device according to the set of power configurations and the selected duplexing mode.
