Abstract: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry with a mixer. The mixer may include a transconductor with first and second input transistors, a switching quad with first and second pairs of mixer transistors, and a transformer coupled between the transconductor and the switching quad. The transformer may have a primary winding and a secondary winding. The transformer may have a conductive path that couples a center tap contact of the primary winding to a center tap contact of the secondary winding. The conductive path may configure the transformer to share a DC bias current between the transconductor and the switching quad. This may eliminate the need to bias the transconductor and the switching quad using different power supply voltages, thereby minimizing power consumption without sacrificing performance.

Abstract: A power supply can include a bulk capacitor that receives a DC bus voltage; one or more DC-DC converters that convert the DC bus voltage to a DC output voltage; an inrush current limiting circuit that includes a resistor coupled in series with the bulk capacitor so as to limit an inrush current to the bulk capacitor; and a solid-state switching device that selectively bypasses the resistor once the bulk capacitor is charged; and control circuitry that operates the solid-state switching device to selectively bypass the resistor once the bulk capacitor is charged. The inrush current limiting circuit can further include a relay responsive to the control circuitry that selectively bypasses the resistor under high load conditions once the bulk capacitor is charged; and the control circuitry can further operate the solid-state switching device to selectively bypass the resistor once the bulk capacitor is charged under low load conditions.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing a notification indicating an identity of a first person based on face-associated body characteristics. For example, a device performs facial recognition to identify the identity of the first person shown in a first video feed. The device also identifies and stores physical characteristic information of the first person from the first video feed, the stored information associated with the identity of the first person based on the recognized face. Subsequently, the device receives a second video feed showing a second person whose face is determined to not be recognized by the device. The device compares the stored physical characteristic information of the first person with additional physical characteristic information of the second person shown in the second video feed. Based on the comparison, the device provides a notification indicating whether the identity of the second person corresponds to the identity of the first person.

Abstract: Devices, methods, and non-transitory computer readable storage mediums for the seamless transition of subject into an image or scene are disclosed. The methods include obtaining a first image of a scene, the first image including at least a first subject. A first alpha mask is generated for the first image based on an image segmentation operation. A depth map is generated for the first image, and a foreground depth is determined for the scene. A second alpha mask is generated by modifying the first alpha mask based, at least in part, on comparisons between values in corresponding portions of the depth map and the determined foreground depth. The second alpha mask modifies an opacity of at least some portions of the first image corresponding to the location of the first subject.

Abstract: The subject technology provides frequency-aware masked autoencoders for multimodal pretraining on frequency-based signals. An apparatus receives input data comprising frequency-based signal information associated with one or more modalities. The apparatus transforms the input data from a time domain to a frequency domain. The apparatus generates a frequency-embedded latent representation of the input data comprising time-domain and frequency-domain information. The apparatus also generates a masked frequency-embedded latent representation by masking one or more frequency components in the frequency-embedded latent representation. The apparatus produces a trained machine learning model by training a neural network to predict one or more masked frequency components of the frequency-embedded latent representation.

During fetch of an indirect control transfer instruction from memory to an instruction cache of the processor, the indirect control transfer prediction circuit may predict whether the indirect control transfer instruction is biased. Responsive to a prediction that the indirect control transfer instruction is biased, the indirect control transfer prediction circuit may cause the indirect control transfer instruction to be executed as an unconditional direct control transfer instruction according to the predicted bias.
