摘要： A fixing device is provided that can limit a temperature rise in paper non-contact edge portions with a relatively simple configuration and can make uniform a temperature distribution across a paper feed region. A heating roller includes lamps that respectively heat a center region and a large edge region and a small edge region, a temperature sensor for a heat generating region of the center lamp, a temperature sensor for a heat generating region of the edge-side lamps, and a temperature sensor for a paper non-contact edge portion. The heating roller selects any one of the edge-side lamps based on a detection result from the temperature sensor for the paper non-contact edge portion.

摘要： A screw fall preventing structure prevents a screw from falling out of a unit that is attachable to and removable from a main body of an apparatus. The screw is used for fastening the unit to the main body of the apparatus. The screw fall preventing structure includes: a wire piece having a bent portion fitted around the screw to hold the screw axially rotatably; and a fixing member fixing the wire piece to the unit. When the unit is not fastening by the screw, the screw is elastically supported via the wire piece on the fixing member and the elasticity is given by a portion of the wire between a portion fixed by the fixing member and the bent portion.

摘要： A cleaning device and an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing staying of toner in a brush and reducing stress on a brush by discharge products are provided. A cleaning device includes upstream and downstream cleaning brushes and a cleaning roller, which respectively contact the surface of a secondary transfer belt, and first to third bias applying sections. The first bias applying section applies a bias voltage having a polarity opposite to that of the normal toner to the upstream cleaning brush. The second bias applying section applies a bias voltage having a polarity opposite to that of the normal toner and set to be not less than the absolute value of the bias voltage applied to the upstream cleaning brush, to the downstream cleaning brush. The third bias applying section applies a bias voltage having the same polarity as that of the normal toner to the cleaning roller.
