    摘要: A new and distinct rabbiteye blueberry variety is described. The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from crossing the blueberry varieties known as ‘Centurion’ (not patented) and ‘Rahi’ (not patented). The fruit of this new variety has an attractive appearance characterised by outstanding fruit quality with a good bloom and little grittiness, and an exceptionally late fruiting season. The new variety appears suitable for the late fresh fruit market and has been named ‘Centra Blue’.

    摘要: The membrane scaffold proteins (MSP) of the present invention assemble with hydrophobic or partially hydrophobic proteins to form soluble nanoscale particles which preserve native structure and function; they are improved over liposomes and detergent micelles, in terms of stability and preservation of biological activity and native conformation. In the presence of phospholipid, MSPs form nanoscopic phospholipid bilayer disks, with the MSP stabilizing the particle at the perimeter of the bilayer domain. The particle bilayer structure allows manipulation of incorporated proteins in solution or on solid supports, including for use with such surface-sensitive techniques as scanning probe microscopy or surface plasmon resonance. The nanoscale particles, which are robust in terms of integrity and maintenance of biological activity of incorporated proteins, facilitate pharmaceutical and biological research, structure/function correlations, structure determinations, bioseparations, and drug discovery.

    摘要: A choke valve having flow trim components, namely a tubular cage and a flow collar or plug, and related components, designed and arranged for reduced fracturing. The invention includes a protective tubular sleeve, or insert cartridge in which the side ports are located to overlap with the intersection of axes of the inlet and outlet bores, but to avoid direct impingement of fluid along the axis of the inlet bore. In the cage, at least a pair of main flow ports are located to overlap with the intersection of the axes of the inlet and outlet bores, and are aligned with the side ports of the tubular sleeve or cartridge to communicate directly with the side ports. In this manner fluid may enter the choke valve through the inlet bore and pass through the main flow ports at reduced pressure and continue out through the outlet bore, without direct impingement on the side wall of the flow trim components.

    摘要: A gate valve for controlling fluid flow, in which a valve body forms a cylindrical flowbore and includes a gate cavity intersecting the flowbore to provide opposed openings into the flowbore. Seat pockets are formed in the opposed openings, each with a radial base and a side wall, and may optionally include metal carrier ring sealed in the seat pockets. The gate is slidably movable within the valve body between open and closed positions. Annular seat elements are mounted in each seat pocket for limited axial movement on opposite sides of the gate, with a first seal surface for sealing against the seat pocket or optional carrier ring, and a second seal surface for sealing against the gate. A non-metallic bridging seal formed as a face seal is provided between the first seal surface of the annular seat element and the seat pocket (or optional carrier ring). The bridging seal is adapted to bridge any gap formed at the first seal surface of the annular seat element such that sealing engagement is maintained across the gap at all times as the gate moves between open and closed positions, while still permitting the limited axial movement of the annular seat element. Preferred embodiments of the bridging seal include tongue and groove seals and bridge ring inserts. A second seal to the seat pocket is also preferred.
