摘要: The disclosed embodiments include an apparatus and method of using a laser to scan the ground or a target from an airborne or ground-based platform. In certain embodiments, the apparatus and method produces a 3-D elevation model of the terrain. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a pulsed laser, a receiver to detect and amplify the pulse after being reflected by objects on the ground (or the ground itself), and electronics which measures the time of flight of the optical pulse from which the slant range to the target is calculated. Technical advantages of the disclosed embodiments include avoiding blind zones to ensure that no laser shots are wasted. In certain embodiments for airborne applications, the apparatus may also be configured to maintain a constant swath width or constant spot spacing independent of aircraft altitude or ground terrain elevation.

摘要: A method for noise attenuation includes comparing a frequency of noise generated by a plurality of noise sources with a plurality of frequencies associated with a pre-determined noise spectrum and stored in a computer system, identifying one or more noise sources that generate the noise based on the comparison of the frequency of the noise and the plurality of frequencies stored in the computer system; generating anti-noise corresponding to the noise; and outputting the anti-noise using one or more noise mitigation devices associated with the one or more noise sources.

摘要: Downhole tools, methods, and systems related thereto. An example downhole tool includes a body comprising a degradable core and a chelating agent or a chelating agent/scale inhibitor mixture integrated therein. The chelating agent and scale inhibitors help to direct and control the degradation of the degradable core.

摘要: A multi-oriented hydraulic fracturing (MOHF) model may incorporate the pseudo-plastic properties of the formation and tiny tectonic motions from fracturing to enhance MOHF operations. For example, a method may include modeling a simulated wellbore penetrating a simulated subterranean formation with a MOHF model having (1) static inputs and (2) dynamic inputs that comprise pseudo-plastic properties of rocks that comprise the subterranean formation; simulating a first fracture in the subterranean formation with first fracture operational parameters with the MOHF model; calculating formation stresses with the MOHF model after the first fracture; simulating a second fracture in the subterranean formation with of second fracture operational parameters with the MOHF model; and calculating a simulated fracture network characteristic for each of the plurality of first and second fracture operational parameters with the MOHF model, thereby producing several simulated fracture network characteristics that may be used for selecting the preferred operational parameters.

摘要: Interaction of particulates of a chelating agent with an acid-reactive surface, such as various surfaces found in a wellbore, can provide a number of benefits during a treatment process. Methods for utilizing particulates of a chelating agent in a treatment process can comprise: introducing a foamed treatment fluid having a continuous liquid phase and a discontinuous gas phase into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation, the foamed treatment fluid comprising: a plurality of particulates comprising an N-(phosphonoalkyl)iminodiacetic acid, and an acid in which the N-(phosphonoalkyl)iminodiacetic acid is substantially insoluble; and depositing at least a portion of the plurality of particulates at one or more locations within the subterranean formation.

摘要: A method of detecting a fault in an oil and gas apparatus controlled by a controller is provided. The method includes collecting a test set of data using a sensor proximate to an oil and gas apparatus during the operation of the oil and gas apparatus under test operating conditions, the test set of data being associated with an operating parameter of the controller, determining a percentage of the test set of data that falls outside a normal operation region of the oil and gas apparatus, and configuring the controller in response to the percentage being between a fault-free percentage threshold and a fault percentage threshold.

摘要: The disclosed embodiments include downhole capacitive coupling systems, and methods and apparatuses to provide an electrical connection between two downhole strings. In one embodiment, the system includes a first electrode deployed along an internal surface of a first string deployed in a wellbore, the internal surface being defined by an annulus. The system also includes a second electrode deployed along an external surface of a second string, the second string being deployed within the annulus, and the external surface of the second string and the internal surface of the first string being separated from each other by the annulus. The first electrode and the second electrode are operable to form a first capacitive coupling between said first electrode and said second electrode to transfer electrical current from the second electrode to the first electrode.
