Abstract: A surgical site infection management lighting system and method that utilizes Far Ultraviolet C radiation that is safely used to eliminate or reduce surgical site infections. An integrated visible lighting system that includes far ultraviolet radiation doses that are safe for human cell exposure and patient and medical practitioner because of the designed and engineered and computer programmed for pathogen destruction at low doses. The lighting and electromagnetic radiation system provides illumination and for high visibility which provides medical staff optimal vision while performing a surgical or medical procedure. The system further uses electromagnetic radiation frequency of 1.489-1.350 PHz and other frequencies that are pre-engineering and computer programmed for each electromagnetic radiation event during a surgical or medical procedure. The system will efficiently and safely keep all doses substantially low and safe for human exposure while effectively killing and destroying pathogens.

Abstract: A surgical site infection management lighting system that is effective and safe for human use to reduce or eliminate surgical site infections. The system provides multiple focused electromagnetic radiation frequencies at minimal energy levels for surgical and medical procedures that kills pathogens with electromagnetic radiation sources. The system includes an aiming laser, a distance sensor, a camera for providing images of the surgical site, and a motion sensor for providing control parameters. Fused silica lenses are utilized to focus the visible light for high illumination and selected electromagnetic radiation frequencies at minimal energy levels that are lethal to pathogens. The lighting system can be associated with an articulable arm, a mobile base stand, a handheld unit or a head-mounted unit.

Abstract: A window buck is formed of side walls that are extruded from vinyl. The side walls have interior channels. The side walls may be formed to effect a female-male connection between the ends of two adjoining side walls. Alternatively a locking member is provided that is sized to frictionally engage a selected channel. The edges of the side members are shaped for abutment to each other with a connector in the channels to hold the window buck together. The window buck thereafter may be placed before the cement wall is formed and is sized to receive a window frame. The window buck may be formed into selected geometric shapes. Window bucks of different dimensions may be assembled by selected sides of different dimensions from bins or pallets of presized side members.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for modifying a structure such as a medical device through the selective application of a coating. A coating sleeve may comprise an elastomeric wall that may be permeable or impermeable to a coating material and may be porous so as to allow for patterned coating of the device. The coating sleeve may contain surface protrusions that facilitate manipulation by providing sites for grasping and pulling. In operation the coating sleeve may be fitted on the device prior to application of a coating and removed subsequent to application of the coating.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a hollow globe including a plurality of apertures which are formed substantially throughout the entire surface of the globe. Formed within the globe and disposed in laminar juxtaposition to the interior surface of the globe's sphere, a bladder means is formed of an opaque flexible material. A plurality of cross slits are formed on the bladder in substantial alignment with the globe's surface. An internal light source is disposed within said bladder at approximately the midpoint of the globe's sphere, and a plurality of luminescent pegs are provided for insertion into the apertures formed in the globe's surface. The present invention provides the user with the plurality of luminescent, differently colored pegs to design a picture or art form. The present invention may additionally serve as a night light and the luminescent pegs may be specially adapted to project light from the interior of the globe's surface to the exterior of the globe and onto surrounding walls and ceilings. The globe may additionally be rotatable around the axis by a rotating mechanism which is controlled by an on/off switch.
