    摘要： The invention provides a ceramic electric-discharge lamp having a pinch-sealer which is set to an end of an outer envelope and covered by a base having a pair of base pins projecting themselves into the base. The outer envelope is in vacuum, in which an arc tube composed of a square U-shaped tube is installed. Apertures of both ends of the square U-shaped illuminant are closed by ceramic discs each containing an electrode. Linear illuminant is formed in such regions where the radius of curvature of the square U-shaped arc tube greatly varies, in other words, between the curved portions.

    摘要： A bicycle ergometer includes an eddy current brake having a rotor assembly including an iron material having a carbon content of 0.12% or less and a silcon content of 0.35% or less, a stator provided in the rotor assembly, a plurality of exciting coils provided on the stator, and a power source for energizing the exciting coils. The ergometer includes an input panel for inputting physical attributes of the user, e.g., age and sex, a pulse sensor for measuring the heart rate of the user at rest and during exercise on the ergometer, an arithmetic control circuit for calculating a training program and heart rate range and for controlling the eddy current brake to present a load to the user which will maintain the user's heart rate in a predetermined range. The method of using the ergometer enables a user to select a physical strength program and a weight reduction program with the selected program reflecting the age, sex, and the present physical condition of the user.

    摘要： A mobile carrier apparatus for detachably supporting from an elongated supporting cable or rod a flexible element of extensible character such as an insulated electric power cord or a fluid conduit connectable with a work member serviced by said flexible element. The carrier is made up of a composite elementhanger having detachably connected upper and lower brackets, each having a freely rotatable roller or pulley wheel disposed above and below the supporting cable. From the lower bracket there depends in swivel like fashion a further composite cord-gripping support made from a pair of separable complementally shaped segments which can be adjustably closed relative to one another to grip cords of varying cross-sectional size therebetween. The mobile carriers of this type are usually used in plural form to pay out the supported flexible cord or element as needed in use, said cord usually being formed in coiled loops when returned after use with a mobile carrier of this type supporting each of the loops.
