Abstract:
A packaging device for a trocar assembly includes a housing member having a first retaining member adapted for selective retention of a trocar assembly component relative to the housing member along a component longitudinal axis. The housing member further includes a shield member remote from the first retaining member. The shield member lies in a shield longitudinal axis which is substantially perpendicular to the component longitudinal axis. The housing member is substantially open adjacent the shield member along the component longitudinal axis.
Abstract:
The present disclosure features methods and systems for direct-parametric interoperability in computer-aided design. Two approaches for developing three-dimensional designs are currently widely used: direct and parametric computer-aided design (CAD) modeling. To combine advantages of both approaches, in one aspect of the present invention, a direct modeling user interface is used for editing a model, allowing intuitive and easy manipulation of geometry, and a parametric geometry engine interprets these manipulations as history-based features to create a construction recipe. Thus, the underlying architecture of the model remains parametric, even though the user may not realize that history and associative relationships are being created and modified during every manipulation. Accordingly, the present invention provides the intuitive WYSIWYG editing of direct CAD modeling, while retaining the powerful features and regenerative capabilities of parametric modelers.
Abstract:
Novel crystal forms of solid solutions of 2,9-dimethyoxyquinacridone and 2,9-dichloroquinacridone. The crystal forms may be formed by a process comprising the steps of: a) heating a mixture of 2,5-di(4-methoxyanilino)terephthalic acid, and 2,5-di(4-chloroanilino)terephthalic acid in polyphorsphoric acid at a temperature less than 1050 C to form a mixture of 2,9-dimethoxyquinacridone and 2,9-dichloroquinacridone; b) combining the mixture of 2,9-dimethoxyquinacridone and 2,9-dichloro-quinacridone with water; and c) heating the mixture of 2,9-dimethoxyquinacridone and 2,9-dichloroquinacridone at a temperature not more than 110° C. Another crystal form may be formed by the process of heating a mixture of 2,9-dimethoxyquinacridone and 2,9-dichloroquinacridone in a polar aprotic solvent. These products are may be used for coloring fibers, plastics, paints, coatings, printing inks, color filters, cosmetics, automotive coatings, textiles, fibers, powder coatings, in-mold coatings, laminate films, and the like.
Abstract:
2,5-di(p-methoxyanilino)terephthalic acid crystal types I and II are made by controlling the pH during the recovery of the oxidized product of the condensation of dimethylsuccinyl succinate with p-methoxyaniline. The resulting 2,5-di(p-methoxyanilino)-terephthalic acid can be converted into 2,9-dimethoxyquinacridone or a solid solution thereof having controlled characteristics.
Abstract:
A system for an online community provides linkage between a plurality of business entities and a population of computer-literate individuals to develop online capabilities for the business entities. A server is attached to a network accessible to the business entities and the individuals. Synchronization software runs on the server and is configurable by the individuals to provide the desired online capabilities. Development of the online capabilities provides a work environment for the individuals. Access to the business entities is through an association, such as a chamber of commerce. A manager from the association administers the developed online community, connecting an organization, such as a school, with the association. The organization provides access to the individuals and a framework for fund-raising programs to benefit the organization and the individuals. The system routes fund handling and delivery of goods or services generated by the online capabilities to the business entities for processing.
Abstract:
Crude indanthrone is milled, with or without other additives, to reduce and normalize particle size and distribution to a sub-pigmentary, near amorphous, state. The resulting highly aggregated crude powder is then treated with a heterogeneous solvent system of water and an alkyl ester of an aromatic carboxylic acid, such as methyl benzoate, to de-aggregate and grow the particles back to a pigmentary size. The conditions of the solvent treatment can be controlled with respect to temperature, time, and solvent ratio such that the desired properties of strength, shade, and dispersability are optimized.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for computing a schedule of channels is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of accepting a series of commands to tune a plurality of channels sequentially from an ordered schedule of channels; determining a duration of a time period between each of the series of commands; and prioritizing the schedule of channels according to the duration of the time period during which each channel is tuned. The apparatus comprises a user interface for accepting a series of commands to tune a plurality of channels sequentially from an ordered schedule of channels and a processor, communicatively coupled to a memory, the processor implementing a timer for determining a duration of a time period during which each channel is tuned and prioritizing the schedule of channels according to the duration of the time period during which each channel is tuned.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for implementing data management with a data collection computer system to aid analysis and treatment. A serial port is monitored to detect the connection of a meter. When a meter connection is identified, patient data is automatically downloaded from the meter to the data collection computer system. Then the patient data or one or more selected reports generated from the patient data are printed. The patient data is downloaded from the meter and printed, with no user intervention required. Reports to be generated and printed are selected in a setup mode and stored. After the patient data is downloaded from the meter, communication with the meter is continued until either the meter is turned off, the cable is disconnected, or the meter automatically shuts itself off after a specific amount of inactivity.
