Abstract: A virtual multi-touch input device uses an optical camera system and a processor to detect locations and motions of objects in a virtual working area and to transfer information about the locations and motions of the objects to a host device, such as a personal computer (PC) or a cellular phone. When the user's finger or objects touch a region of interest lit by a flat fan beam of light, the lit portions of the finger or objects are imaged by the optical camera system and the processor processes the images to obtain the locations of the finger or objects. Based on the motions or a movement pattern (gesture) of the finger or objects, the processor produces the multi-touch information for controlling a computing device and associated displays.

Abstract: In a PWM signal generation method of a voltage regulator, an output sense signal, a first ramp signal and a second ramp signal are provided. A first time point of the first ramp signal crossing with the output sense signal is used to determine a start point of an ON-time of a PWM signal, and a second time point of the second ramp signal crossing with the output sense signal is used to determine an end point of the ON-time of the PWM signal. Moreover, the first ramp signal is reset to a reference voltage at the first time point and then maintained at the reference voltage, and further ramps down starting from the end point of the ON-time. The second ramp signal ramps up starting from the start point of the ON-time, and then is reset to a preset voltage at the second time point.

Abstract: A method for merging separated pixel blocks into an integral image of an object is provided. The method performs binary image processing on an obtained image to obtain a binary image, finds pixel blocks in the binary image whose area is greater than a first preset value, and stores a position and a size of each found pixel block in a data structure. The method further merges two pixel blocks in the data structure if a distance between the two pixel blocks is less than a second preset value, so as to generate the integral image of the object.

Abstract: A server communicates with at least one client. If the server wants to transmit streaming media to a client, the client sends a package to the server. The package indicates if the client can decode the streaming media. If the client can decode the streaming media, the server decodes the streaming media and outputs the decoded streaming media on a display of the server. The server sends the streaming media to the client. The client decodes the streaming media and outputs the decoded streaming media on a display of the client. If the client cannot decode the streaming media, the server obtains the streaming media on the desktop of the server and compresses the streaming media to a compressed file. The client receives the compressed file from the server, and decompresses the compressed file. The decompressed files are output on the display of the client.
