A non-real time stereoscopic video service method and apparatus are provided. The non-real time stereoscopic video service method performed by a reception apparatus, including: extracting a program association table (PAT) from a received transport stream (TS) and analyzing the same; extracting a program map table (PMT) corresponding to a program selected by a user from the PAT and analyzing the same; extracting a stereoscopic video service descriptor from the PMT and analyzing the same; generating frame and/or time information of an image to be reproduced according to the analysis of the stereoscopic video service descriptor; and reproducing an image by synchronizing a reference image and a supplementary image based on the generated frame and/or time information.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving broadcasting data and supplementary data. The method includes: generating broadcasting data and supplementary data for a plurality of predetermined 3D broadcasting services to be provided to users; multiplexing the generated broadcasting data for broadcasting channels respectively allocated to the plurality of predetermined 3D broadcasting services, and multiplexing the generated supplementary data for one commonly broadcasting channel commonly allocated to the plurality of predetermined 3D broadcasting services; encoding the multiplexed supplementary data corresponding to a conditional access system; and transmitting the encoded supplementary data to the one common broadcasting channel, and transmitting the multiplexed broadcasting data to the allocated broadcasting channels.
Abstract:
Provided is a stereoscopic video service providing method using a stereoscopic video stream including first and second video streams in a digital broadcasting system. The stereoscopic video service providing method includes: generating information on the first video stream and information on the second video stream; inserting an identifier of the information on the second video stream into the information on the first video stream; and transmitting the first video stream and the information on the first video stream and the second video stream and the information on the second video stream through separate transmission channels, respectively.

A method and apparatus for processing enhanced media data in a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) system is provided. The apparatus for processing enhanced media data includes: a base layer processing unit configured to multiplex an elementary stream of a base layer and perform channel encoding for the multiplexed elementary stream of the base layer; an enhancement layer processing unit configured to synchronize an elementary stream of an enhancement layer with the elementary stream of the base layer and thereby multiplex the elementary stream of the enhancement layer and process the elementary stream of the enhancement layer to be transmittable via at least one of a plurality of transmission channels; and a synchronizer configured to provide the enhancement layer processing unit with synchronization information that is used for synchronizing the elementary stream of the enhancement layer with the elementary stream of the base layer.

Provided is a method and system for transmitting/receiving broadcasting service. The method for transmitting a 3-dimensional broadcasting service includes: encoding a reference image and an additional image of the 3-dimensional broadcasting service to generate a reference image stream and an additional image stream; receiving a service map table defining the 3-dimensional broadcasting service; and transmitting the reference image stream, the additional image stream and the service map table in real time.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing 3D still image service in a specific time interval during audio-visual service of digital broadcast are provided. The method includes receiving a reference image and a 3D supplement image, which construct a 3D still image, through a data channel or a video channel together with a 2D image; restoring the reference image and the 3D supplement image to the 3D still image; and displaying the 3D still image in a specific interval during digital audio-visual broadcast using the 2D image according to display information which includes a play time and a play mode.
