    Abstract: Management of communication operations of wireless devices is provided. A traffic-control parameter is generated, for example at a base station, indicative of desired aspects of communication operations of the wireless devices. The one or more traffic-control parameters may comprise a delay parameter, such as a maximum value for generating random backoff times, and/or a connection-time parameter, indicative of the maximum length of time a wireless device can hold a connection. A bit sequence indicative of the one or more traffic-control parameters is generated and communicated to the wireless devices. A wireless device determines the traffic-control parameter based on the communicated bit sequence and adapts its operation based thereon.

    Abstract: A semi-frameless cabinet system including a top panel, bottom panel, two side panels, and a back panel. The cabinet may also include one or more middle shelves, drawers, or doors. Each of the forward facing sides of the cabinet include a grooved surface, wherein edging is secured to each panels such that the panels and edging form an interior space within the cabinet. The edging overlaps the outer edge of the cabinet panels, but not the inner edge, such that the edging and panels are flush within the interior space of the cabinet. As such, the cabinet employs the advantages of both framed and frameless cabinets.

    Abstract: A technique for reducing a prototype database for use with handwriting recognizers. The prototype database is divided into multiple spaces and the effect on the error rate for removing each prototype is identified. All prototypes that contribute to the error rate are removed. If further prototype database reduction is desired, the technique identifies and removes one or more prototypes that have the least adverse effect on the error rate across all spaces. The technique continues removing prototypes in this manner until a desired prototype database size has been achieved.
