Abstract:
A method for maintaining pressure in a wellbore during drilling operations includes the steps of providing fluid from a reservoir through a drill string, circulating the fluid from the drill string to an annulus between the drill string and the wellbore, isolating pressure in the annulus, measuring pressure in the annulus, calculating a set point backpressure, applying back pressure to the annulus based on the set point back pressure, diverting fluid from the annulus to a controllable choke, controllably bleeding off pressurized fluid from the annulus, separating solids from the fluid, and directing the fluid back to the reservoir. An apparatus for maintaining pressure in a wellbore during drilling operations includes an adjustable choke for controllably bleeding off pressurized fluid from the wellbore annulus, a backpressure pump for applying a calculated set point backpressure, and a processor for controlling the adjustable choke and backpressure pump.
Abstract:
A resettable drive assembly for a drug delivery device (1) is provided. The drive assembly comprises a drive unit (3) for driving a piston rod (5) in a dispense operation of the device (1). The drive unit (3) comprises a first drive member (35), a second drive member (37) and locking means preventing a relative rotational movement of the first (35) and the second drive member (37) during a dispense operation and allowing a relative rotational movement for enabling a resetting of the device (1). Moreover, a drug delivery device (1) comprising a resettable drive assembly is provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices, in particular pen-type injectors, wherein a number of pre-set doses of medicinal product can be administered. In particular, the present invention relates to such drug delivery devices where a user may activate the drug delivery device.

Abstract:
There is provided a sheet driver for use in a medicament dispenser including a medicament carrier having a plurality of pockets for containing medicament wherein said pockets are spaced along the length of and defined between first and second sheets secured to each other and separable by drivable pulling action, the sheet driver comprising a base; ascending from the base, a shaft defining a rotational axis; on the base, a drive surface for receipt of drive to rotate the base about the rotational axis; about the shaft, a torsion spring defining first and second spring legs; mounting about the shaft and the torsion spring for rotation about the rotational axis, a hub defining a hub surface for receipt of a sheet of the medicament carrier. A first leg receiver of the base receives the first spring leg of the torsion spring and a second leg receiver of the hub receives the second spring leg of the torsion spring such that relative rotation of the base and the hub results in tensioning of the torsion spring.
Abstract:
An electronically-controlled viscous fan drive in which the output drive to the fan is electronically controlled by the movement of viscous fluid from a fluid reservoir and into the operating and working chamber of the coupling during normal operation. A radially balanced valve disk coupled to a spring controls the relative movement of viscous fluid from a fluid reservoir to the working chamber by sealingly engaging and disengaging a fill hole fluidically coupling the fluid reservoir to the working chamber. The clutch plate and cover and body, along with the features defined between the clutch plate and cover and body are cast to the desired size and shape, therein allowing easier and more precise manufacturing and more cost effective manufacturing as compared with traditional designs that are stamped and having machined-in features.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for rotating a stripper assembly in use with a rotating drilling head. A drive system is disposed external to the rotating drilling head and generates rotational motion to match the rotation of a drillstring running through the rotating drilling head. A connection transfers rotational motion from the drive system to the stripper assembly. In one embodiment, the drive system comprises a housing disposed about the drillstring and a one or more contact members connected to said housing and operable to contact the drillstring. One or more biasing members urge the contact members into contact with the drillstring so as to transfer rotational motion from the drillstring to the housing.
Abstract:
A dispenser 10 for use in dispensing liquid or solid material. The dispenser 10 includes wall portions forming a sealed first chamber 18 containing the material and wall portions forming a second chamber 20 and a molded, rupturable membrane 34 disposed between the first chamber 18 and the second chamber 20. The rupturable membrane 34 is preferably a circular disk with a series of molded radial depressions 40 or weld seams 40 extending from a center point of the disk. When pressure is applied directly to the membrane 34, the membrane 34 is fractured along the depressions 40 or weld seams 40. A method is provided for forming the dispenser 10 by injection molding.
Abstract:
A noise suppressor for engagement over a cable, comprises a ferrite core having a core passage extending therethrough from one end to the other. A sleeve of resilient insulating material is cast, injected, dipped or molded over the ferrite core to cover the core. The sleeve includes on opposite sides thereof, a sleeve passage communicating with the core passage. One of the projections may be resilient or may be replaced by a closed end of the sleeve with a slit, for closely engaging a cable to fix the sleeve at a selected location along the cable. A pad may be included in one or both of the sleeves to further hold the sleeves securely on the cable. The sleeve may have a cylindrical or rectangular cross section to accommodate cylindrical or ribbon shaped cables.
