Abstract: The present invention provides for the integration of drug dispersion methods into a drug or medicine delivery system. The drug dispersion methods used include shear (e.g., air across a drug, with or without a gas assist), capillary flow or a venturi effect, mechanical means such as spinning, vibration, or impaction, and turbulence (e.g., using mesh screens, or restrictions in the air path). These methods of drug dispersion allow for all of the drug in the system to be released, allowing control of the dosage size. These methods also provide for drug metering, fluidization, entrainment, deaggragation and deagglomeration. The present invention also provides for the integration of a drug sealing system into the device. The drug sealing system provides a way of blocking the migration of drug from one area of the package to another. The drug seal system can also provide a method of tightly containing the drug until the package is opened, of directing airflow through the package and of managing and containing the drug during the package/device manufacturing process.

Abstract: Features relating to a vaporizer body are provided. The vaporizer body may include an outer shell that includes an inner region defined by an outer shell sidewall. A support structure is configured to fit within the inner region of the outer shell. The support structure includes a storage region defined by a top support structure, a bottom support structure, a bottom cap, and a gasket. An integrated board assembly is configured to fit within the storage region of the support structure. The integrated board assembly may include a printed circuit board assembly formed of multiple layers that form a rigid structure and that include an inner, flexible layer. A first antenna is integrated at a proximal end of the flexible layer, and a second antenna is integrated at a distal end of the flexible layer.

Abstract: Methods and systems for delivering formulations to users using modular device having atomizer and wick assembly are disclosed. A formulation delivery system that includes a mouthpiece with a first attaching structure at one end and a removable cartridge with a second attaching structure that connects to the mouthpiece. The removable cartridge houses an atomizer at its first end and features a wick assembly with a removable cap and a wick made from an absorbent material. The wick, which transports fluid to the atomizer, is connected at one end to the removable cap and at the other end abuts the atomizer. The system also includes a channel within the removable cartridge; this channel extends to the cartridge's first end and houses the wick, while the removable cap is located outside the channel. Additionally, the system incorporates electronics that maintain a removable electrical connection with the cartridge.

Abstract: Features relating to a vaporizer device including a vaporizer body and a cartridge for connecting to the vaporizer body are provided. The cartridge includes a wireless transceiver positioned proximate a distal end of the cartridge. The wireless transceiver is configured to transmit, receive, and/or store data and to communicate with a subset of remote devices, which may include the vaporizer body and one or more additional devices such as manufacturing, assembly, and filling equipment. The vaporizer body includes wireless communication circuitry that enables communication with remote devices, which may include the cartridge and user devices such as a wireless device. The vaporizer body is configured to identify the cartridge and implement operational instructions and/or apply configuration parameters received from an application and/or based on preset configuration parameters associated with the cartridge.

Abstract: Taught herein is a disposable breath actuated dry powder drug inhalation device having a powderized drug storage chamber with integral toroidal geometry and air flow pathways for entraining and breaking up powder aggregates prior to delivery to the patient. The toroidal chamber is fluidly connected by one or more air inlets directed in a non-tangent manner toward the powder to loft and set up an irregular-rotational flow pattern. Also, in fluid connection with the toroidal chamber is a centrally or near centrally located air and powder outlet consisting of one or more holes forming a grid in fluid connection with a channel providing a passageway for powder flow to the patient.
