摘要： A hierarchical movie is provided. A hierarchical movie is a movie that contains one or more embedded movies. Embedded movies may themselves contain embedded movies. Each movie contains zero or more media sequences. Within a hierarchical movie, media sequences that should be edited together may be grouped together using embedded movies. The media sequences of a hierarchical movie may be sequenced during playback based on a different time coordinate system than the time coordinate system that governs any embedded movies. This allows a movie to contain both time-based and time-independent media sequences. Also, the relative timing of events in the movie may vary from performance to performance. The hierarchical movie structure allows movies to be used as user interface controls, and even as field-sensitive databases.

摘要： A light dimmer, especially useful for entertainment lighting, provides a high degree of stability in dimmer performance by employing a high level of analog negative feedback and correcting for the undesirable effects on dimmer "curve" by precompensating the input value while it is digital. A lighting control system distributes both the alternating current supply and control signals representing desired adjustments to fixture intensity via a housing common to multiple enclosures. Each enclosure contains at least one dimmer and mechanically engages the housing, from which it obtains a power input via power contacts and a control signal via an electrically isolated coupling comprising an effective source on the housing and detector on the enclosure.

摘要： A universal handle for household and other hand-held implements, the handle being adapted to ergonomically render the implement to which it is applied useable by individuals who have diffculty in firmly grasping a conventional handle. The universal handle, which is fabricated of elastomeric material having good thermal isulation and cushioning properties, includes an internal cavity to socket the core shank of the implement. The handle has an ellipticl cross section, the opposing sides of the handle adjacent its upper end each having a concave depression, in each of which an array of spaced, flexible fins is anchored to define a depressible grip site. When the fingers of a user's hand are clenched about the handle, the internal region of the resultant fist conforms to the form of the handle to provide a good grip thereon, the thumb and forefinger pressing into the grip sites to enhance the user's grip on the handle.

摘要： An electronic dimming apparatus adapted for use in a distributed dimmer system, the distributed dimmer system comprising at least one alternating current supply; a plurality of lamp loads at spaced apart locations; a plurality of dimmer enclosures, the dimmer enclosures adapted to be located at spaced-apart locations in proximity to the lamp loads, each of the dimmer enclosures containing at least one semiconductor power controller coupled between a power input and a power output, the power output coupled to at least one of the lamp loads by at least one power connector; elongated power conductors coupling the power input of each of a plurality of the dimmer enclosures to the alternating current supply, at least a portion of the elongated conductors disposed within an elongated, substantially rigid enclosure, the enclosure mounting a plurality of power connectors at spaced-apart locations; and a trigger for variably controlling the average power supplied to the lamp load, the trigger responsive to at least a first input condition corresponding to a desired average power to be supplied to the lamp load and having at least one output coupled to the semiconductor power controller so as to determine the power condition of the semiconductor power controller, wherein a plurality of the dimmer enclosures are adapted to detachably mechanically engage the elongated enclosure, to provide a power inlet connector coupling with at least one of the power connectors of the elongated enclosure upon proper mechanical engagement of the elongated enclosure by the dimmer enclosure, and providing a power outlet connector suitable for coupling the power output to the lamp load.

摘要： Units for distributing three-phase power to a plurality of chain motors are provided, as are used to raise and suspend production elements such as lighting, sound, video, and scenery. Remote switching and phase reversal of such power are also provided. In the prior art, such switching has been performed by large, heavy contactors inserted between the single power input and its distribution to plural outputs for motors, making the unit difficult to handle and ship. Provided herein are power switching and phase reversal performed by a plurality of parallel such means, reducing the current requirements for each, and thereby the size, weight, and cost of the whole. In some embodiments, the single power input is replaced by a by a cable delivering a plurality of two-phase circuits to the unit which derives the three-phase circuits necessary for chain motors therefrom.

摘要： The disclosure relates to “leg carriage” type trusses, which rely for shipping on elevation by a pair of U-shaped wheeled temporary supports, each having two legs connected by a low horizontal member. The upper ends of the legs are inserted in receiving sleeves installed in the four corners of the truss structure. The clearance between the outer dimensions of the leg and the inner dimensions of the sleeve impact the ease with which legs can be inserted and removed, as well as the lateral “play” in the connection between the leg and truss, which impacts its stability in handling and therefore safety. The disclosure addresses the previous conflict between the two objects by the use of asymmetrical clearances. A relatively relaxed tolerance in the elongated axis of the truss eases insertion and removal. A lesser relative tolerance across the axis of the truss width has no significant impact on leg insertion and removal yet improves stability.

摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for processing a set of communicated signals associated with a set of muscles, such as the muscles near the larynx of the person, or any other muscles the person use to achieve a desired response. The method includes the steps of attaching a single integrated sensor, for example, near the throat of the person proximate to the larynx and detecting an electrical signal through the sensor. The method further includes the steps of extracting features from the detected electrical signal and continuously transforming them into speech sounds without the need for further modulation. The method also includes comparing the extracted features to a set of prototype features and selecting a prototype feature of the set of prototype features providing a smallest relative difference.

The truss has at least four elongated chords defining between said chords a first volume generally rectangular in cross-section. 摘要： Methods and systems for semantic visual communication may include in a handheld communication device including a user input mechanism, a processor, and a display: receiving textual information via said user input mechanism in the handheld communication device; analyzing the textual information using the processor and one or more algorithms; generating meta information based on the analysis; and providing semantic visual information content on the display based on the meta information for selection by a user. The user input mechanism may comprise a touchscreen display. The semantic visual information may comprise a looping visual or a static image, and may be provided from a content library stored on the handheld communication device or stored on a device wirelessly coupled to the handheld device. Selected semantic visual information may be modified based on received user input. The modifying may comprise incorporating the received textual information into the selected semantic visual information.
