Abstract:
In the initializing period of each of sub-fields comprising one field, one of all-cell initializing operation and selective initializing operation is performed. The all-cell initializing operation causes initializing discharge in all the discharge cells for displaying an image. The selective initializing operation selectively causes initializing discharge only in the discharge cells subjected to sustaining discharge in the preceding sub-field. During initializing discharge using scan electrodes as anodes, and using sustain electrodes and data electrodes as cathodes in the all-cell initializing period, applying, to the data electrodes, a voltage for delaying discharge using the data electrodes as the cathodes, after discharge using the sustain electrodes as the cathodes.
Abstract:
A bioassay substrate (1) is flat and has a disc-shaped main side like an optical disc such as CD. The substrate (1) is rotatable about a central hole (2) formed therein. The substrate (1) has formed on the surface (1a) thereof a plurality of wells (8) where a probe-use DNA (detection-use nucleotide chain) and sample-use DNA (target nucleotide chain) react with each other for hybridization. The substrate (1) has a transparent electrode layer (4) formed as an underlying layer of the well (8). For hybridization, an external electrode (18) is placed in a position near the transparent electrode layer (4) from above the top surface (1a) of the substrate (1) to apply an AC power to between the transparent electrode layer (4) and external electrode (18) in order to apply an AC electric field perpendicularly to the substrate (1).
Abstract:
The problem of the present invention is, in a plural-number order delta sigma D/A converter, not to cause click noise upon performing mute operation at no-signal input idling and hence to eliminate the necessity of a circuit for removing this. In order to perform sequence operation for rendering zero an output signal by lowering the order of a loop filter in order when stopping the operation of a plural-number order delta sigma D/A converter, 1st-order differentiators corresponding to each order and switch means for rendering inputs to these 1st-order differentiators zero are provided in the loop filter.
Abstract:
A UV image forming optical system includes a collimating lens for collimating light emitted from a UV light source, an imaging lens for forming an image of the collimated light transmitted through the collimating lens, and a beam splitting optical system positioned in an optical path of the collimated light between the collimating lens and the imaging lens. At least one of the collimated light emitted from the collimating lens and the light transmitted through the imaging lens, reflected by a reflector and transmitted again through the imaging lens is made incident upon an external viewing optical system.
Abstract:
A sampling rate converter for converting a first signal having a first sampling rate to a second signal having a second sampling rate, includes a circuit for generating first data corresponding to the ratio of the second sampling rate to the first sampling rate. A second circuit generates second data by correcting the first data with corrective data. A third circuit generates third data corresponding to an estimated output timing of the second signal based upon the second data. A comparator compares the third data with a fourth data corresponding to the actual output timing of the second signal to generate comparative data. A corrective circuit is responsive to the comparative data to generate the corrective data. A further circuit is responsive to the first and third data for generating the second signal.
Abstract:
A closure arrangement adaptable for an easy open type container including a score line wherein a crossing position of the score line portion lying on the longitudinal axis of a pulling tab passing through the center of a rivet is a minimum distant point from the center of the rivet. The score line portion extends from the minimum distant point right and left and projects outwardly in the region between a first subsidiary line crossing at right angles to the longitudinal axis at the minimum distant point and a third subsidiary line passing through the center of the rivet and extending in parallel with the first subsidiary line, so as to form a pair of swelling score line sections on both sides of the rivet. In this manner, the initial opening force can be decreased, and an easy opening closure can be made even if the score residual is made thicker than that in a conventional closure.
Abstract:
An apparatus for converging three electron beams accurately on the picture tube screen of a color television reproducing system. In this apparatus, a controlled pulse is produced from a deflection drive pulse which is supplied to the reproducing system as one of several synchronizing pulses separately from the color component signals, or is produced from a synchronizing pulse which is separated from the composite signal in the reproducing system. Desired tilt controlled parabola currents are produced from the sawtooth voltage which is generated from the controlled pulse the position of the leading edge and pulse width of which are preferably set for adjusting the phase of the convergence fields relative to that of the deflection field and to avoid causing a distortion of the resultant parabola currents at the end of the blanking period.
Abstract:
The present invention allows a plasma display apparatus having a high-luminance panel to decrease initializing bright points that easily occur just after power-on of the apparatus, enhancing the quality of display image. The panel has discharge cells, each of which including a data electrode, and a display electrode pair formed of a scan electrode and a sustain electrode. In the driving method of the panel, one field period is formed of subfields, each of which including an initializing period for generating initializing discharge in the discharge cells, an address period for applying scan pulses to the scan electrodes and applying address pulses to the data electrodes, and a sustain period for applying sustain pulses to the data electrode pairs. In the structure above, a predetermined period after power-off of the apparatus has no generation of the address pulses, the scan pulses, and the sustain pulses.
