Abstract: A system for mechanically deploying intraluminal implants is disclosed. The system is used with an implant that is delivered and/or deployed via a pull wire and includes a handle having a funnel and receiving channel for receiving the pull wire, a slider having a thumb grip and a wedge, and a shuttle having a grabber for grasping the pull wire. The thumb grip is pulled proximally to retract the wedge to cause the grabber to grasp the wire and retract the shuttle but not the wire. An extension spring linked between the slider and the shuttle abruptly pulls the shuttle to retract the pull wire after the slider is fully retracted.

Abstract: An aneurysm occlusion system includes a device positionable within a cerebral blood vessel covering a neck of an aneurysm on the blood vessel. The device includes an expandable tubular element having a lumen surrounded by a sidewall including a plurality of gaps. When expanded, the tubular element includes longitudinal standards arrayed helically in a proximal to distal direction. The standards support struts and the gaps are defined between adjacent struts and are sufficiently large to permit delivery of embolic coils or other embolic materials therethrough.

Abstract: A thrombectomy system includes a catheter having a proximal end and a distal end, a valve in fluid communication with the catheter, and a cutting instrument associated with the distal end of the catheter. The cutting instrument may be configured for axial and/or rotational motion. A controller of the system may be configured to detect operational parameters of the cutting instrument. The controller may determine whether the cutting instrument is engaging with occlusive material based on the detected operational parameters. The controller may operate the valve in one or more operating modes to alter a level of pressure in the catheter based on whether the cutting instrument is engaging with the occlusive material.

Abstract: A dynamic aspiration method including engaging a distal end of an aspiration catheter against an occlusion in a blood vessel, applying a vacuum through an aspiration lumen of the aspiration catheter using a vacuum source coupled to a proximal end of the aspiration lumen by a connecting tube, whereby portions of the occlusion are drawn into the aspiration lumen, through the connecting tube and into a collection receptacle by the vacuum source, sensing flow through the connecting tube, and automatically generating pressure differentials when a clog or restricted flow is detected.

Abstract: Automatic synchronization of a magnetic field transmitter and receiver is performed to resolve phase ambiguity so that phase information, used in determining the position and orientation of the receiver, may be derived and maintained. Inertial measurement unit (IMU) information is used to infer gravity-relative orientations of the transmitter and receiver, which are then used as constraints in the synchronization process to determine the position and orientation of the receiver from all four possible solutions or variations. The variation that best conforms to the IMU orientations is chosen as the sync candidate.
