摘要: An aspiration thrombectomy system including an aspiration catheter having a proximal end and a distal end, the aspiration catheter having a lumen to accommodate fluid, a vacuum source including a controllable vacuum valve, a tubing connected to the aspiration catheter, and a controller configured to detect a change in a catheter diameter corresponding to a change in the connection between the aspiration catheter and the tubing. The controller is configured to change a pulsation protocol associated with the aspiration catheter responsive to the change in the catheter diameter, and the pulsation protocol specifies pressure variations and pressure patterns to modulate the vacuum valve to change a level of vacuum at the distal end of the aspiration catheter.

摘要: Cyclic aspiration system producing a cyclic aspiration pressure waveform of intermittent cyclic intervals of vacuum pressure below atmospheric pressure and positive pressure higher than vacuum pressure. The system including flexible inlet tubing connected in fluid communication between a vacuum pump and an aspiration catheter. A positive pressure pulse generator mechanism intermittently cyclically applies an external force compressing a section of the flexible inlet tubing reducing internal volume and displacing fluid collectable therein thereby generating a positive pressure pulse. Upon withdrawal of the external force applied, the flexible inlet tubing is configured to be forcibly restorable to a non-compressed state increasing the internal volume while reducing pressure therein until eventual regeneration of the vacuum pressure thereby minimizing recovery time and maximizing cycling frequency.

摘要: A chest drainage system including a collection device configured to receive fluid from the pleural cavity of a patient. A sensor is included to detect a pressure differential in the fluid. A display is configured to display a trend in occurrences of changes in pressure of the fluid over time in predetermined time increments based on a number of detections of pressure differentials that exceed a predetermined pressure differential during each of the predetermined time increments. The trend is correlative to the percentage of time that the patient is deemed to have an air leak in the pleural cavity in the predetermined time increments. The trend is derived from a ratio of the quantity of respiratory cycles of the patient for which the predetermined pressure differential is detected (QRCleak) in the predetermined time increments to the total quantity of respiratory cycles of the patient in respective predetermined time increments (QRCtotal).

摘要: A system comprises a negative-pressure source including a pump and an electric motor for maintaining negative-pressure at the wound and a pressure sensor for sensing a wound site pressure (WP). The system further comprises a system controller coupled to the first pressure sensor and the electric motor. The system controller maintains the wound site pressure (WP) within a hysteresis band by the application of power to the electric motor from a battery power source, based upon, at least in part a flow rate (FR) of fluid between the pump and the wound site as determined by the system controller. The hysteresis band including a maximum wound site pressure (WPMax) and a minimum wound site pressure (WPMin).

摘要: Variable aspiration control in surgical procedures. At least one example is a method of performing a surgical procedure, the method comprising: driving, by a surgical controller, a motor within a handpiece coupled to a resection instrument, the driving causes mechanical resection of tissue by the resection instrument; aspirating, by a peristaltic pump associated with the surgical controller, fluid and tissue fragments through a suction lumen of the resection instrument during the resection of tissue; and modulating, by the surgical controller, speed of the peristaltic pump during the driving and aspirating, the modulating responsive to an interface device defined on an exterior surface of the handpiece.

摘要: An aspiration thrombectomy system includes an aspiration catheter configured to accommodate fluid and having a proximal end and a distal end. The system includes connection tubing coupled to the aspiration catheter and configured to act as a common conduit for fluid communication. The system further includes controllable valves operable to control a level of pressure, and pressure sensors positioned downstream from the distal end of the aspiration catheter. A controller is configured to detect and identify pressure levels associated with an open flow state of the aspiration thrombectomy system, and to determine a vascular pressure level of the patient.

摘要: An aspiration catheter is provided including a proximal section and a distal section extendable through the proximal section. A vacuum transfer tool may be coupled to a proximal end of the proximal section. The vacuum transfer tool may include a proximal transfer tube and a distal transfer tube, each having an aspiration port in communication with a vacuum source. The proximal transfer tube may be removably received within a proximal end of the distal transfer tube. The distal section of the catheter may be inserted into the proximal section through the proximal transfer tube. The proximal transfer tube may maintain a vacuum around the proximal end of the distal section of the catheter such that when the distal section is removed by decoupling the proximal and distal transfer tubes, the vacuum within the distal transfer tube and proximal section of the catheter is maintained, preventing the escape of any clots.

摘要: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure and/or instillation fluids to a tissue site. Some embodiments are illustrative of an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure and/or therapeutic solution of fluids to a tissue site, which can be used in conjunction with sensing properties of fluids extracted from a tissue site and/or instilled at a tissue site. For example, an apparatus includes a dressing interface or connector that includes a pH sensor, a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor and/or a pressure sensor embodied on a single pad within the connector and proximate the tissue site to provide data indicative of acidity, humidity, temperature and pressure. Such apparatus includes algorithms for processing such data for detecting leakage and blockage as well as providing information relating to the progression of healing of wounds at the tissue site.
