Abstract: A base station and a user equipment (UE) may exchange messages to perform a Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure. The UE performs measurements on a plurality of signal synchronization blocks (SSBs), selects M physical random access channel (PRACH) groups based on one or more of the measured SSBs satisfying a predetermined threshold, provides the measurements for the M PRACH groups to a base station in an initial access transmission for a RACH procedure and monitors for a random access response (RAR) message based on a repetition number for the RAR message indicated by the base station.

The UE monitors a first physical resource to receive a common downlink control information (DCI) portion of scheduling information for the UE, decodes the common DCI portion to determine information for a UE-specific DCI portion that is transmitted by the base station on a second physical resource, monitors the second physical resource for the UE-specific DCI portion based on at least the information from the common DCI and decodes the UE-specific DCI portion based on at least the information from the common DCI.

The UE receives a frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) configuration from a network, the FDRA configuration comprising at least one of a first FDRA mode or a second FDRA mode, wherein the first FDRA mode utilizes an FDRA unit comprising a set of consecutive resource blocks (RBs) and the second FDRA mode utilizes an FDRA unit comprising a set of interlaced RBs, when both of the first and second FDRA modes are configured, the UE receives a signal indicating which one of the two FDRA modes are to be used for an uplink (UL) transmission and performs the UL transmission in accordance with the indicated FDRA mode.

Abstract: Various systems and methods disclosed herein describe improvements for beam management that leverage virtualization across a vertical polarization (V-Pol) and horizontal polarization (H-Pol). One or more of a user equipment (UE) and a base station may include an antenna array comprising V-Pol antenna elements and H-Pol antenna elements. The UE may determine a number of receive (Rx) beam of an Rx beam sweep are needed, signal this number to the base station, and perform the beam sweep according to one or both of the V-Pol and H-Pol. A UE may use group based beam reporting to indicate to the base station a transmit (Tx) beam upon which downlink MIMO using V-Pol and H-Pol may be supported by reporting a same transmission configuration indication (TCI) corresponding to the Tx beam for both a first Rx beam and a second Rx beam in a group based beam reporting message.
