Abstract: Mobile device-assisted mobility enhancement is provided. In one example, a method comprises: determining, by a mobile device that was communicatively coupled to a defined network via a first distribution unit (DU) of DUs, that a connection between the mobile device and a base station device, via a first beam, in a network fails to satisfy a defined condition; selecting a second beam associated with a second DU and to which to connect; and transmitting, via the second beam, to the defined network, a radio link interruption message comprising re-assignment information to facilitate re-assignment of the mobile device to the second beam from the first beam, wherein the transmitting is performed via a mobile device identification message of a random access procedure and wherein the transmitting is performed based on the first DU being determined to be different from the second DU.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed towards optimization and control of wireless networks based on monitoring and/or analytics data received at a radio access network (RAN) controller device in a split RAN protocol architecture. The RAN controller device processes the monitoring/analytics data and provides control information and/or optimization data, which can be policy data, to a central unit device that can configure the wireless network based on the control information and/or optimization data. The technology can facilitate optimization and configuration of mobility procedures including handovers and secondary cell group changes, optimization of carrier aggregation and dual connectivity procedures based on multiple metrics, and can facilitate centralized optimization of topology and route selection for integrated access and backhaul nodes.

Abstract: Facilitating virtual carrier aggregation for wideband operation of wireless communication systems is provided herein. A system can comprise: a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise: receiving, from a network device of network devices, downlink transmission data comprising downlink control information applicable to a downlink channel of the network device; as a function of the downlink transmission data, adjusting a subband of subbands resulting in an aggregation of multiple subbands; and transmitting uplink radio traffic data via the aggregation of multiple subbands to the network device.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a multi-beam Listen Before Talk which is a coexistence mechanism used by wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, to access unlicensed shared spectrum, such as the ISM UNIT bands (5 GHz). The embodiments disclosed herein enable a transceiver to determine whether or not there is activity on a beam to avoid causing interference. The transceiver can determine that there is activity in a certain direction, and then avoid transmitting on a beam in that direction until the activity ceases. While there is activity in a first beam, the transceiver can continue to transmit on other beams that will not cause interference with a transmission associated with the first beam.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a closed loop Listen Before Talk (LBT) which is a coexistence mechanism used by wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, to access unlicensed shared spectrum, such as the ISM UNII bands (5 GHz). The embodiments disclosed herein enable a base station to coordinate the LBT process at both the base station and a receiver in order to avoid hidden node interference where the interfering nodes are outside the sensing range of the transmitting node. The base station device can send an LBT trigger to the receiver to synchronize the clear channel assessments that are performed at each device to determine if there is any activity on the channel. The receiving device can send back a report to the base station device, and if no activity on the channel is detected, the base station device can schedule a transmission on the channel.
