摘要： A method and apparatus for controlling the level of molten metal in a mold for continuous casting by using a molten metal level control system incorporating a molten metal level controller in the control loop thereof, which comprises damping selectively the predetermined frequency of frequencies of periodical molten metal level fluctuations through a notch filter installed in the control loop. The control loop preferably includes the phase compensation calculation part for compensating the phase delay of the stopper opening position control signal for adjusting the amount of the molten metal to be fed to the mold. The control apparatus in the control loop comprises a molten metal level senser, an FFT analyzer, an automatic tuning device for dealing with the results of the FFT analysis, a molten metal level controller and a notch filter.

摘要： An ATM switch for providing an electrical interconnection between a connection-oriented ATM LAN of an ATM system and a connectionless legacy LAN is provided. The ATM switch includes a switch fabric electrically connected to the ATM LAN, a segmentation and reassembly block electrically connected to the switch fabric, for providing an interchange between one of cells transmitted over the ATM LAN and a packet transmitted over the legacy LAN, a management and control block electrically connected to the switch fabric through the segmentation and control block so as to manage and control operations for electrical connections between networks, a first bridging/routing processor having a legacy LAN interface for providing electrical connections between the legacy LAN and the first bridging/routing processor, a second bridging/routing processor electrically connected to the switch fabric through at least one ATM interface, and a bus for providing electrical connections between the management and control block, the first bridging/routing processor and the second bridging/routing processor. A LAN emulation configuration server function for managing configurations of a plurality of virtual LAN segments on the ATM LAN, which are required upon LAN emulation, a LAN emulation server function for obtaining an address resolution to an ATM address from a media access address, and a broadcast and unknown server function for making a broadcast to a terminal in the LAN are provided so as to be distributed to the management and control block or the second bridging/routing processor.

摘要： A method for preparing an electrophotographic printing-use developer by mixing components of toner material, fusing and kneading the toner material, and then crushing and classifying the toner material, includes the step of arranging carbon black which is one of the components of the toner material to contain water before the mixing step. This arrangement permits even dispersion of water in the mixture of the components, prevents the flowability of the mixture from being lowered, and achieves stable kneading. Therefore, improved dispersion of the components is achieved. Since water adsorption is stable, water-treated carbon showing reduced water segregation is obtained. Consequently, high quality less foggy images with high resolution are obtained.

摘要： Provided is an information processing system and a login method capable of simplifying login processing and also simplifying the entire configuration of the system.Targets are classified into groups, and an address is assigned to each group. An initiator stores the address of each group, and each target stores at least the address assigned to the group the relevant target itself belongs to and information for identifying the initiator that is permitted to connect to itself. When the initiator logs in to a target belonging to a desired group, the initiator issues a login request whose destination is the address assigned to the desired group. When the target receives the login request whose destination is the address assigned to the group to which the relevant target itself belongs to and only when the initiator is permitted to connect to itself, the target transmits a login response to the initiator.

The main CPU divides the print data to be stored in the HDD into multiple data units, stores the multiple data units into multiple subregions of the HDD in a distributed manner, stores the file-management information on the multiple data units into the file-management region, and erases the file-management information stored in the file-management region after completion of the print jobs.

A storage device predicts not only a transmission data amount to be formed by an output request in a transmission queue but also a reception data amount to be formed by an input request in the transmission queue. The storage device stores a newly occurred output request in a queue having a minimum predicted transmission data amount and stores a newly occurred input request in a queue having a minimum predicted reception data amount. In a storage device having redundant input/output paths, transmission data amounts and reception data amounts can be smoothed among the paths.
