摘要: The present disclosure provides polymeric additives for use with toner particles. The polymeric additive of the present disclosure includes a copolymer possessing at least one monomer having a high carbon to oxygen ratio, a monomer having more than one vinyl group, and at least one amine-functional monomer. Toners possessing this polymeric additive exhibit excellent stability with respect to relative humidity and excellent charging characteristics.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a magnetic toner composition. The toner composition includes one or more resins, and spherical ferromagnetic nanoparticles. Also provided is a process for preparing these toners including ferromagnetic nanoparticles. In embodiments, the aggregation of the toner is conducted at a pH greater than about 7, without the use of a coagulant. Additionally, in embodiments, freezing (stopping particle growth) and coalescence of the toner particles may be conducted at a pH greater than about 9. In yet other embodiments, the process may be conducted under an inert gas such as argon to avoid oxidation of the ferromagnetic nanoparticles during toner preparation.

摘要: The present disclosure provides toners and processes for making said toners. In embodiments, the toners include a fluorescent additive having a fluorescent agent. Toners are colorless when viewed under natural light but when exposed to UV light of a specific wavelength the toners are rendered bright green due to the presence of the fluorescent agent.

摘要: Processes for making organic pigments useful in imaging members, specifically for pigments that after further polymorphic conversion may be used in a charge generating layer of an imaging member. More specifically, there are described processes for producing titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc) in high yields using tetrahydronaphthalene as reaction solvent, such as TiOPc Type I. This pigment can be successfully converted to a high sensitivity crystal form useful as charge generating pigment in an imaging member.

摘要: Coated phosphorescent pigments are provided which may be utilized in toner compositions. In embodiments, the phosphorescent pigment may be coated by a powder coating process. The large pigment particles may be dry blended with dried resin latex particles, thereby coating the pigment surface, followed by heating and shearing in a rotary kiln or extruder to melt the toner resin and fuse it to the pigment surface. The resulting coated particles may be utilized with other toners, in embodiments color toners, to provide phosphorescent images.

摘要: The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to an imaging member having an outermost layer formulation that includes wax particles which creates a rough surface morphology for the layer and imparts increased scratch resistance, reduced torque, and improved cleaning performance to the layer. In embodiments, the outermost layer is an overcoat layer used for an improved imaging member having a substrate, a charge transport layer, and an overcoat positioned on the charge transport layer.

摘要: A photoconductor containing an optional supporting substrate, a photogenerating layer, and at least one charge transport layer, and wherein the photogenerating layer contains an alkyltriol, such as glycerol, and a photogenerating pigment, such as a Type V titanyl phthalocyanine prepared, for example, by dissolving a Type I titanyl phthalocyanine in a solution of a trihaloacetic acid and an alkylene halide; adding the mixture comprising the dissolved Type I titanyl phthalocyanine to a solution of an alcohol and an alkylene halide thereby precipitating a Type Y titanyl phthalocyanine; and treating the Type Y titanyl phthalocyanine with a monohalobenzene.

摘要: Provided are a latex process and a toner process, both of which include the preparation of a latex having weight average molecular weight of from about 12×103 to about 24×103. The latex is manufactured under monomer-starved polymerization condition such as monomer feeding rate equal to or less than 0.516% per minute by weight of the monomer(s) to be fed. The toners prepared according to the present disclosure have gained improved properties such as gloss, fusing performance, crease performance, stripping performance, document offset, vinyl offset, and parent charging etc.
