摘要: To provide an optical recording apparatus capable of effectively suppressing useless fixation to an information-unrecorded area during a fixing process with a simple structure, and an optical head. Upon recording information, a movable lens of an expander lens 104 is positioned in an information recording position. In an information fixing process, the movable lens of the expander lens 104 is positioned in a fixing-process position. In this case, a range of irradiation to the recording medium with the data light becomes somewhat wider than that in the information recording process. Accordingly, it is possible to fix the information to an area irradiated with the data light in the information recording process without fail. In addition, the irradiation range is only somewhat wider than that in the information fixing process, making it possible to minimize the region uselessly subjected to the fixing process.

摘要: According to one aspect and example, a method for recording holographic media and/or holographic master data masks includes recording at least a first hologram or information layer with a first holographic medium (e.g., a “submaster”) and recording at least a second information layer with a second holographic medium (e.g., a second “submaster”). The first information layer and the second information layer from the first and second holographic media are then sequentially reconstructed and stored with a single holographic master medium (e.g., a “master”). The holographic master may then be used to record the stored first and second information layers into additional holographic media, for example, into HROM devices or the like.

摘要: A holographic storage apparatus for recording data in a holographic medium includes at least one light source for generating a reference beam and a signal beam. The reference beam is preferably a phase beam of unchanging phase content. The apparatus also includes a holographic medium placed in a path of the reference beam and a path of the signal beam. The holographic medium has a first face and both the reference beam and the signal beam enter the holographic medium through the first face. The holographic medium also includes a data reflective surface. The reference beam and the signal beam interfere in the holographic medium to create a hologram only after at least one of the reference beam and the signal beam have reflected off of the data reflective surface.

摘要: A tunable optical device for adding or dropping one or more channels in a wavelength division multiplexing communication system is disclosed. The tunable optical device comprises one or more filters, wherein at least one filter comprises (a) one or more elastimers and (b) one or more gratings. An elastimer is a polymer that expands and contracts with a change in a voltage applied across the polymer or when a certain wavelength of light is diffracted from or transmitted through the polymer.

摘要: Systems and methods for processing content packages such as human-readable documents identify and analyze content type. Structural and logical evaluation of a Content package is performed, followed by analysis and indexing of concepts within the package. Analysis and identification of concepts and sub-concepts may be an iterative process. Concepts are indexed in accordance with different rule sets representing Different consumer needs and perspectives. Customers can then use the indices to navigate large groups of content packages based on the concepts contained within those packages and also on keywords associated with concepts.

摘要: Disclosed herein are systems and related methods for reducing speckle on display screen. More specifically, screen vibration is used to reduce speckle, and in accordance with the disclosed principles, the vibration may be achieved by using wave-based actuation (e.g., acoustic or electromagnetic waves) to vibrate the screen. In an exemplary embodiment, a speckle reducing system may comprise at least one actuating element located proximate to, but not in physical contact with, a display screen. In addition, the at least one actuating element may be configured to generate waves directed towards the display screen. When the waves impact the display screen, the waves impart vibration to the display screen.
