Abstract: An air mixer includes an annular body defining a center axis. A plurality of slots are defined in the annular body circumferentially spaced apart from one another. Each slot defines a respective center injection axis extending from an outer surface of the annular body to an inner surface of the annular body. Each respective center injection axis is parallel to a respective plane bisecting the annular body. At least one of the slots is intersected by the respective bisecting plane parallel to its respective center injection axis.

Abstract: A turbomachine fuel injector system includes an air distributor configured to be mounted to and contained within a casing and to provide air to mix with a fuel from one or more fuel distribution systems. The system includes a fuel manifold configured to be mounted indirectly to the casing such that the fuel manifold system is contained within the casing but is independent such that fuel manifold does not touch or directly mount to either an interior of the casing or touch the air distributor within the casing to prevent or reduce thermal transfer from the air distributor to the fuel manifold.

Abstract: A method for assembling a fuel distribution system for a turbomachine fuel injector includes inserting a liquid fuel distributor into an interior cavity of a shroud to create a liquid fuel distribution circuit between the liquid fuel distributor and the shroud and inserting a gas fuel distributor into the interior cavity of the shroud and into an interior cavity of the liquid fuel distributor to create a gas fuel distribution circuit between the gas fuel distributor and the liquid fuel distributor. The method includes inserting a fuel transfer tube into an outer diameter of the shroud. The method includes brazing or shrink fitting at least one of the fuel transfer tube, the gas fuel distributor, or the liquid fuel distributor to the shroud.

Abstract: A combustor dome system includes an annular combustor dome defining a main axis therethrough. The combustor dome includes opposed upstream and downstream faces, wherein the upstream face is configured to face upstream toward a compressor discharge space, wherein the downstream face is configured to face downstream toward a combustor space. The downstream face has a curved cross-sectional profile. A plurality of nozzles extends at least partially through the combustor dome from the upstream face to the downstream face for injection of fuel into the combustor space. A fuel manifold is in fluid communication with the plurality of nozzles.

Abstract: A nozzle includes a nozzle body with an inner air passage fed by a first radial swirler and a second radial swirler axially downstream of the first radial swirler. A first fuel circuit is axially between the first and second radial swirlers. A second fuel circuit is axially downstream of the second radial swirler, wherein each of the first fuel circuit and the second fuel circuit extends from a respective fuel circuit inlet to a respective annular fuel circuit outlet. An outer air passage is defined between a fuel circuit outer wall of the second fuel circuit and an outer air passage wall, wherein the outer air passage is a converging non-swirling air passage. An intermediate air passage can be defined between an intermediate wall and the second radial swirler, wherein the intermediate air passage is a converging non-swirling air passage.

Abstract: An internal fuel manifold for a turbomachine can include an outer ring defining one or more fuel supply channels configured to allow fuel flow around at least a portion of a circumference of the outer ring, and a plurality of branches extending radially inward from the outer ring. The branches include a high aspect ratio shape. The plurality of branches can include one or more branch fuel channels in fluid communication with at least one of the one or more fuel supply channels. The manifold includes one or more injector connectors extending axially aft from each branch, each injector connector in fluid communication with a branch fuel channel and configured to connect to a fuel injector. The manifold can include an inner ring extending from the plurality of branches. The inner ring and the outer ring are configured to receive a fuel injector and combustor assembly therebetween and to allow retaining of the fuel injector assembly and combustor assembly to the internal fuel manifold.

Abstract: A fuel injector includes a feed arm with an inlet end and a nozzle body extending from the feed arm at an end opposite the inlet end. The nozzle body defines a prefilming chamber that opens into an annular outlet orifice for issuing a spray therefrom. A plurality of fuel circuits is defined from the inlet end of the feed arm to the prefilming chamber of the nozzle body. Each fuel circuit in the plurality of fuel circuits can include a single respective inlet opening at the inlet end of the feed arm, with a single respective conduit extending through the feed arm and nozzle body from the single respective inlet opening to a single respective outlet slot feeding into the prefilming chamber.

Abstract: A nozzle includes a nozzle body defining a longitudinal axis and including a primary distributor and a secondary distributor. The primary distributor has an inner air passage fed by a radial swirler; a first fuel circuit radially outboard from the inner air passage with respect to the longitudinal axis; a second fuel circuit radially outboard from the first fuel circuit with respect to the longitudinal axis, wherein each of the first fuel circuit and the second fuel circuit extends from a respective fuel circuit inlet to a respective annular fuel circuit outlet; and an outer air passage defined between a fuel circuit outer wall and an outer air passage wall, wherein the outer air passage is a converging non-swirling outer air passage. The secondary distributor similar to the primary distributor is downstream of the primary distributor with respect to the longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A fuel injector for a gas turbine engine includes a feed arm defining a conduit extending between an inlet end and an outlet end and a plunger. The plunger is disposed within the conduit and is movable between a plunger first position and a plunger second position. A flow area defined between the plunger and the feed arm is smaller in the plunger first position than in the plunger second position to bias fuel flow through the fuel injector. Fuel systems, gas turbine engines, and methods of controlling fuel flow in gas turbine engine fuel systems are also described.
